Fixer-Upper (Aube Floor 3)

[ Multiple midnight dumpster runs later, Peter finally has a decent collection of stuff to work on here. The common room on the third floor of Aube has been temporarily taken over by junk and tools, which have been loosely sorted into different piles. Here's a bunch of electronic parts. Here's some casings that seem mostly intact. These are screens, that appears to be a pile of ancient game console tidbits... The biggest item is an old CRT TV that is just wrecked. But - it's not what he's working on right this second. No, he seems to be focused on multiple funny-looking bracelets laid out on a cloth. He's had at least three requests for webshooters by now, and he aims to get them done today. Also, finally fix the one that Kano busted.

See what he's up to? Yell at him for taking up all the space? Or maybe if you ask him nicely, he'll build something fun for you.

In this prompt (as well as all of the others!) Peter has a fresh set of claw marks on his face. The cuts are clean and healing nicely, but obviously very fresh. Someone ran into something nasty lately. ]

STARR Club

[ Who the hell was dumb enough to let Peter start a club again? Oh wait, this is technically Gohan's fault probably. Though honestly, it's safer than just letting all these technically inclined idiots blow up their dorm room or something.

The STARR Club (Science, Technology And Runes/Robotics) was technically up and running in the first few days of school. Pete's definitely been in and out doing stuff. But now? It's officially, definitely open, and Peter is heading up the first meeting. He's. Frankly a bit overwhelmed? Please someone else take this over so he can go back to making webshooters in the corner like he actually wants to do. ]

So uh - I guess we need rules? Or something? To be official.

Soleil, Returning Late

[ Of course that just covers the daytime activities. At night ... Peter tries to sleep, he really does, but inevitably he wakes up at some point and just needs to leave. Swing out to Soleil, get some fresh air come back at an ungodly hour, whatever. Today he's donned his hobo spider suit to go foil some midnight muggings in the local town. He's also taking a swing through campus too, so maybe you see this mysterious Spider-Man out and about?

Or, perhaps worse, you catch him just as he's sneaking back into Aube at 3 AM. The suit is tucked away, but he definitely is sneaking through the hallways up to his room, trying not to look guilty. ]

Spider Astronomy - CLOSEDish

[ Whose idea was this again? It doesn't really matter, honestly; Peter would have been up here regardless and the other two spider kids are nerdy enough this likely appealed to them too. Early in the morning of January 21st, Peter sneaks his way up to the roof of the Aube dorms, carrying a duffel bag full of junk with him. It's cold, as always, but the night is clear, and they have a perfect view of the moon. Pete's here to set up some blankets, put together the world's worst telescope, and watch the lunar eclipse with Gwen and Miles. He's even gotten a couple thermoses full of hot soup from the kitchen. ]

D'you think the faculty does some kind of weird blood moon ritual or something for this?

[ It wouldn't surprise him, honestly. This place is weird enough already.

Of course if you're up on the roof at about the same time (doing the same thing, maybe!) it wouldn't be hard to run into the trio. ]

[She lifts a brow at his guilty conscience, a smile quirking to her lips.]

It's not my dorm. As long as your RA is okay with the mess... [She's not the boss here. And even if she was, she wouldn't tell him to clean it up necessarily. He seems hard at work with something, after all... and the common rooms are meant to be used.

She comes over to take a look at his work, crouching down nearby.]

Do these have something to do with your... spider thing? [She waves her finger around in a small circle, gesturing to... something up in the air? It's a very vague gesture for a very vague idea of what's going on with that.]

[ Look. Peter's usually up to something, so it's just his default state of being. ]

Uh - I guess I didn't ask, but I don't think he'll yell at me for it?

[ It keeps Peter from running off at least, so he suspects Bee might encourage him, in fact. Besides, he is picking up as he goes; there's now a spot on the floor where she can sit, if she wants to.

He gives her a confused look at that comment and gesture though. Spider thing? What? ]

I have spider powers but not webs. So I hafta make 'em with science instead. They're pretty cool though? And anyone can use 'em if they're careful, so some of these are requests.

[Somehow she's not surprised that Peter didn't ask... From what she can tell, he usually doesn't. But once again, that's not really her problem.]

Oh, so you're monetizing it now? I thought that was a secret you were trying to keep. [Trying being the operative word here. It didn't take her too long to put the pieces together, given the conflicting testimonies of the Lumière kids during the Roof incident.]

[ Look. He assumed she figured it out and that he’s garbage at keeping secrets. Lo and behold, he was right.

Still making a face though. ]

Man, it’s not gonna stay a secret here. I can try but.

[ Yeah, he’s pretty well given up on that. Also. He gives her another confused look. ]

... I’m not selling these.

[She snorts in amusement at the face he makes. There might be a hair ruffle as she goes to sit down properly.]

Why not? You look like you're putting a lot of effort into them. You deserve something back from that.

[ Did. He just get a hair ruffle? From Imelda?? And she seems pleased with something he’s doing???

He blinks at her for a moment, open-mouthed. ]

I - uh - that’s not fair to them? I like this stuff.

[His confusion just seems to amuse her more. Good luck, Peter.]

If you're just making gifts, that's your choice. But you can like doing something and make money at the same time.

[ He's so confused okay. And half convinced she's come to bring him bad news or something. ]

W-well - okay, yeah. But Orihime's making me a suit for the ball, and Kano's is so he won't fall off the roof any more.

[ Those both seem like worthy causes to him. ]

[That gets a suspicious look. Good-natured, but suspicious.]

So he won't fall off the roof, or so he can get to even more inaccessible areas?

[She doesn't know Orihime enough to judge, but she can certainly judge Kano.]

[ Orihime is ... uh. Also probably a bad choice, but they have a trade going on so there's that. Peter desperately needs a suit that fits.

Kano tho. Peter just sort of pauses, thinking through that for the first time. ]

Well - I guess. He could do that too. But at least he'd have the option of catching himself if he falls.

[That doesn't sound very reassuring... But it's not exactly untrue. She might just have to keep a more careful eye on what trouble Kano gets himself into. But for now, she only shakes her head and focuses on the clipboard instead. There's a single sheet of paper attached, and a pen tucked under the clip.]

Well, hopefully it won't matter in the long run. I've got something I'd like you to look at.

[She hands the clipboard over to him, so that he can read the attached paper.]

[ Look. It's like 90% a bad idea, but. He's thinking about the other 10%

ANYWAY oh boy here comes the reason she came to find him, huh. He winces instantly, taking the clipboard but not reading it yet. Because he has to say one more dumb thing here. ]

-- Are you expelling me?

[ This is what the paper's for, right??? ]

[That question honestly surprises her. She gives him the most confused look.]

No? Why on earth would we expel you? [And why would she be the one to tell him? She's not even faculty; she's just a TA.]

Just... read the paper.

Well, you're being incredibly nice right now, so...

[ Clearly? That is the explanation??

... Okay he's just gonna read the damn paper, brightening as he realizes what it's actually for. ]

And you're being incredibly guilty.

[She's just going to cross her arms over her chest and wait for him to finish.]

[ That's is secret, Imelda. He's always guilty.

But okay, he finishes reading. And - he manages a genuine smile when he looks back up, kind of excited. ]

Dude, that would be awesome. It's like a reverse escape room!

[Oh, that's... A little cute.]

I figured it would help keep certain students off the roof... And whatever trouble you got yourself in. [She gestures to his face with a grimace. Clearly he got up to something...]

[ Oh. Yeah. He rubs at his face self-consciously, like he just remembered it was there. ]

This is different. My best friend showed up.

[ He's still enthused, just. Distracted. ]

Your best friend?

[She lifts a brow at him, as if asking what happened.]

[ He opens his mouth to say they fought bears, etc. Looks at her. Decides ... that lying to Imelda would be stupid, frankly. And sighs. ]

It wasn't her fault. She's got new powers - couldn't control them. And I hadn't seen her for like a month? I didn't even say goodbye, and now she sees me in France of all places.

Mmm. [She frowns a bit at that, as if there's some sympathy there for his friend. She knows a little something about people disappearing and then just showing up in France of all places...]

Well, I hope you got the hint, niño. You don't run off on the people who care about you. [She gives his face another glance over.] Did you at least see the school nurse? Or Ekkehardt?

[ Yeah uh. That's kind of why he told her, honestly; he knew she would understand Gwen's side of it. Héctor had the right idea in telling Peter to seek help for repeat occurrences. But for just the one ... yeah, Imelda's perspective is better. ]

Nnnno? Not yet? They'd ask too many questions. And Orihime's offered to heal it already.

[She gives him a suspicious look for that.]

How many questions is too many questions?

[Probably that many. Exactly that many.]

[ Pretty much yep. All of the questions. ]

W-well, asking who did it to me. I don't want Gwen to get into trouble.

I'm fairly certain the nurse has a No Questions Asked policy. It would be a bad idea to discourage students from seeking medical attention if they need it.

[Like, for instance, if a student gets his face slashed by a friend.]
