WHAT: Getting settled in and establishing his usual haunts

Lumiere 304 (Closed to Reira)
[Arriving and getting settled in would, hopefully, be a quick affair. Even if it's taking a bit for V to actually get to his new room himself, he's actually sent Shadow ahead to check out the room ahead of time--the panther can't talk, of course, so he can't actually greet V's new roommate, but he can sure slide under the door in shadow form to get a look around. And maybe claim the bed as his own for a while.]

Lumiere, Floor 3
[It seems the floor has a trio of new occupants! Usually the human member of the trio in all his deathly pale, heavily tattooed glory can be caught by himself, and he's friendly enough, if a bit quiet. Since classes haven't started, he's mostly spotted wandering to and from the library. Sometimes he can be found in the common room on the floor, accompanied by either a bird or...

Is that a fucking panther? Yes. Yes, it is. It's slinking around the floor. Laying on the couches in the common room. Just. Being the oversized cat it is. If Shadow fits, Shadow sits.]

Library
[Of course, V's most common haunt is the library. He can be found there for ridiculous stretches of time, buried into whatever books catch his interest. Which is a lot. There's mostly books on runes and magic, but there's also... a lot of William Blake books? Someone has a favorite. If he's at the shelves reaching for a book, he'll pause if someone else is reaching for it too.]

Ah--pardon me... did you need that?

[He'll retract his hand immediately, just in case.]

[And there's V himself, standing and staring a bit in disbelief. And yet.... there are those sprites, so that absolutely has to be Reira hugging Shadow. His expression softens and he closes the door behind him.]

That's a voice she remembers, that is. A distant one, the one she remembered when someone said What is your name?

V...Vwee... [It's just as toddling as she remembers it, never speaking it, only thinking it. But something connects and she realizes 'ah, but it's said more like-']

[Reira unlatches from Shadow- she quickly Re-Latches around V's waist.]

To think... after so long, we're finally reunited here of all places...

[It's murmured as he wraps his arms around her. Shadow, for his part, noses at one of the nearest sprites. Hello, friend.]

[The sprites are one part scolding one part relieved. Honestly! Where have they been! At least they're alright.

Reira however, is still shaking- spiralling into quiet, quiet rambles that far betray former silent apathy to all around her.] Y...You went away...When the big...Big thing, the Hating thing, came...

[She remembers that. Only barely but she does.

She blacked out for most of it thanks to the sprites after all.]

[V starts rubbing her back as he listens--she's grown from how she was when he last saw her. He's... glad. A little disappointed he wasn't there to watch it happen, but... at least he can see her now. This time he's not going anywhere.]

I know... I know... I tried looking for you, but I couldn't find you...

....I'm sorry I didn't.

[No doubt the unexpected response but there it is. And she means it. Because V really does feel a little sad about it all, mixed in with the muddied feelings of everything else. And...she didn't know to care back then, even when she did.

...Suddenly she's happy that she's supposed to stay here, and suddenly she thinks she knows what Hector meant by family.]

Reira wipes her eyes, eventually looking at the cane.]

No, Griffon, Shadow, and Nightmare are all fine.

[He smiles faintly.]

[There is a slow squint, because, frankly those were not the names she ever associated with the lot. Except maybe Griffon, who got regular conversation She sort of just envisioned them as things like Kitty, and BIG!.

Reira slowly looks back to the panther, who is probably 'shadow'. They certainly do a lot of shadowy things. Nightmare just seems mean, she will have to tell Big that.] ....do I still get to call you 'Kitti'..?

Shadow seems fine with it.

Shadow gets ear scritches for it. Isn't it so much nicer for the child to have emotions?? Wow. "Okay. ...I'll ask большой if they like большой later then."

[Shadow seems pleased by this, if the low rumble that escapes him is any indication.

V just smiles a bit. For once, his luck actually seems to be looking up...]

[It looks up for a few minutes, and then Reira has a question.] ...Did the doctors give you clothes too? They gave me clothes...you have to wear different ones every day.

[She speaks now, and with it comes the stark awareness of her social fumblings.]

I have a few sets, but I intend on getting more as soon as possible.

... I'll also need new clothes for when the seasons change.

[Seasons....] ...What happens when the season changes?

...Do you have to have night clothes too? They have clothes for when the sun goes down too. It's too many.

I can't exactly wear something like this during the winter. It'd be too cold for that.

I've got clothes that should work well enough, at least.
