Who: Adelaide & You!
When: Late August
Where: Aube, various spots around campus.
What: Some culinary experimentation, free food, and...practice.
Warnings: There shouldn’t be any!
aube;
Oh, no.
[Adelaide is good at cooking - and especially good at baking. However, she’s still young. She can’t possibly know everything yet. And after getting two requests - well, okay, one was a request and the other one was just an offhand mention - she’s decided to expand her repertoire.
Which! Was going well! And then it wasn’t, because she panicked and tried to overcorrect and now there’s a sticky white mass on the counter. It’s stuck to her hands, too, and there’s even some in her hair.]
Shit.
outside aube;
[Adelaide doesn’t have a sign the way Nana does, but she does have free food. This month it seems she’s gotten a hankering for pies, as the table is covered in them. Large pies, small pies, other kinds of filled pastries. There’s even a selection of what seems to be handmade marshmallows, as well as baklava and, of course, cookies.
She’s been busy and she might have had a disaster or two, but there’s still free food.
There’s also a sign stuck to the front of the table, saying that she takes requests! There’s even a smiley face drawn on it.]
furry friends;
[You know what they say - practice makes perfect. Adelaide’s basically perfected being a bat, but that means there’s still more she can learn about being a cat. So, it’s entirely possible to see a fluffy black cat in various spots on campus - sometimes in places it seems like a cat shouldn’t be.
Or you might run into something considerably larger and more dangerous than a cat. The wolf seems shockingly docile, though, simply staring out at people and wagging its tail.]
wildcard;

[She also, like, barely speaks any French.]
But the important bit is that I wasn't completely off, so it's fine.

[Perfectionism never got anybody anywhere.]
These, though--they're perfect. [He pops his last bite of börek in his mouth and holds his hand up, curling the fingers in. It's a sign of approval.] My compliments to the baker.

[There's relief in her voice, and she visibly relaxes. She wears her emotions on her sleeves.]
I was worried they weren't going to be any good and you'd be disappointed.

[Is he licking crumbs off his fingers? Maybe. You can't prove nothin'.]

[Also, her sense of taste has been...skewed, recently. So it goes.]
I just thought it was good enough to give to people, so!

[He considers it for a moment, then asks:]
Do you like making sweet things more?
no subject
[She tilts her head, considering.]
I don't know that I'd say I like it more, but it's what I'm more used to, definitely.

[Hmm.]
Is this your way of asking for more?
no subject
[But that's a quick answer, isn't it. He shrugs and looks pointedly away.]
You take requests, so I'd request it if I wanted. I'm just saying.
[om nom.]

Okay, sure. That does sound pretty good though, so maybe I’ll make them sometime soon.
[And promptly give it to Therion, of course.]

[CAN'T GIVE IT TO HIM IF HE STEALS IT FIRST!]

[Is it really stealing if it's being made for him in the first place....]
