Autumn Bananas~
Who: Nana, open!
When: First half of September, before the Wild Hunt.
Where:
What: School year starting! A new class president! The Banana Stand never leaves our hearts! Also if you want a specific thread hit me up on Plurk?
Warnings: The new Student Council uniforms are fabulous.
A. BANANA STAND (open!)
[The Banana Stand looks... fabulous today.
Actually, the stand itself is the same wooden construction as always. Nice, solid wood; painted white; a poster with a frog on it; and a big banner that says "BANANICE." There's the usual array of muffins, bread, cookies, and -- new for fall -- cupcakes, with banana-flavored frosting. She stands behind them, hands crossed behind her.
But Nana's a little to the side. Because the new class President is in her fabulous new uniform. But, more than that, it's making a constant swirl of red rose petals. And those waft and go, threatening the baked goods. Indeed, nearby... several rose petal-smothered frosted cupcakes have been retired to the trashcan.]
B. SO MUCH CLASSWORK (open!)
[Being student council President is busy. In this case, Madam President is studying outdoors. She doesn't seem to mind wearing her uniform; she's sitting on a grassy area in the quad, back against a tree, and scribbling on notes -- or reading one of her books.
But it's okay to bother her! Case in point, she has a sign posted by her: "Please bother me if you need something! ♥"
And she doesn't look quite as tired as last month, either.]
C. ELEVATOR RIDE OF DESTINY (closed to Student Council)
[The tallest tower of Grand Hall is where the Student Council is based out of.
And it's time to see their new digs for the first time. Normally, the elevator is fast -- but there's a tradition on the first day. A tradition of the elevator moving dramatically slowly, rising towards the top. And it's been about a minute... all the while, some questionable musical accompaniment is piped in.
About a minute into the elevator ride, Nana blinks and smiles pleasantly.]
This is a little much.

C!
So for the first minute, he stands straight-backed, looking only seconds away from pulling a military salute. He is fully intending to keep this up, too!! Except he's starting to get sincerely uncomfortable and when Nana breaks the silence, he instinctively collapses his shoulders a little. ]
It's tradition. We should respect it. [ ... ] What is the song even about?
sorry for delay! had a death in the family
It is important to respect traditions. The lyrics, ah--let me see... [She listens, and then begins singing along when she gets to a part she's heard already, and translates; it only kinda-sorta works. It's a direct translation.]
The absolute destiny: apocalypse
The absolute destiny: apocalypse
Birth records, baptismal registry, death records
The absolute destiny: apocalypse
The absolute destiny: apocalypse
My birth, Absolute birth, Apocalypse
A wet-nurse and a midwife in a dark desert
A gold-gilded Shangri-La
Day and night turning in on each other
A time-gilded lost paradise
[...then a sigh.]
I don't know that it's about anything.
absolutely no problem, I am really sorry for your loss
They're certainly not shying away from the whole end of the world theme... Even though that is what our school is for, this seems macabre.
aaw thanks
And doesn't really match the tone of the song?

[ You know, like an Outlands clan..... Huh. ]
Though maybe it is meant to signify that our lives lead up to the moment where we stop it? I'd hope....

[Nana sighs. Maybe they should try to change the music.]
no subject
[ Does this elevator have a sign showing which floor they're on.... will they ever make it.... ]
no subject
[And they go up... and up... and...]
I am calling maintenance to check this thing. First act as President.

[ Which is a worst case scenario, but he'd like to make it home before midnight, okay....
..... and then the elevator dings!! How long has it been? Nobody can tell anymore, surely. But the doors open and the luxurious offices of the Student Council lay before them! ]

And now, she steps into their office area (which is legitimately amazing) and that makes her beam. She actually managed to do this.]
Now it's time to get to work, James!

[ Any tanking in mood that may have resulted from the prolonged elevator ride immediately disappears at the sight of this luxurious workplace. They're going to be able to sort so much paperwork in here! James can't wait to micromanage every drawer and cupboard. ]
