Who: Adelaide & You!
When: Various times in October
What: Listen, everything’s fine, and no mistakes are being made at all. Also Aube has too much food.
Where: Campus, Soleil.
Warnings: Mentions of blood & alcohol in the Soleil prompt.
campus;
[So far, being a member of the student council isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Sure, she knew there was going to be a lot of math involved, and she doesn’t mind it, but she minds the talking sword. She minds it a lot - it’s really kind of annoying, the way it nags her about money constantly. She has to admit her spending habits have changed since being gifted with the rapier, and she’s not sure how she feels about that.
There’s also the fact that wherever she goes in uniform there’s a trail of yellow rose petals left in her wake. She can’t really get around without being noticed anymore, because the petals are so invasive. She doesn’t even know what to do with them - will they disappear on their own? Should she use them for something? She’s unsure.
Either way, rules are rules and she has to wear her uniform on campus, so she’s a beacon of fiscal responsibility more days than not.]
aube;
[It’s not quite a daily occurrence, but it’s still pretty common to find Adelaide in the kitchen. She’s as prolific a baker as always, and she spends much of her free time baking up something for people to enjoy. She doesn’t have quite as much time to run a stand, what with classes started up again and her new responsibilities, but her dormmates will find the dorm well-stocked with any sort of baked good they could imagine.
Some days when she’s baking she seems...well. Stressed out. Her hair is a mess, and her movements are jerky and uncoordinated like she’s in a rush, and sometimes there’ll be a grimace on her face. She’s...Well. Trying to seem like she’s not bothered, though.]
soleil;
[This may have been...a mistake. A grave mistake, some could say. She’s not really sure what compelled her to go out to town tonight, but it’s probably because she’s lonely. She could go seek out company with someone she already knows - go talk to Maverick, or go check in on Rex, or maybe ask if Lia wanted to make something - but she doesn’t do that. Instead, she goes out to Soleil and finds herself in a bar.
She can’t get drunk the traditional way. She gets nothing by going to a bar, except...Well.
Just this once won’t hurt, right? She’s not going to kill anyone and she’s pretty sure the guy eyeing her up won’t mind. Just one bite won’t hurt.]
Ah, fuck.
[She pushes herself upright, stepping into the crowd at the bar. She’s really going to do this, huh?]
soleil part 2;
[She’s pleasantly buzzed, and wobbles a bit when she walks. She’s left the bar for the streets, and the guilt hasn’t quite set in yet. She can still taste the blood on her tongue, and she’s surprised it was as potent as it is.
Huh. Maybe she should be concerned about that. But she isn’t.
She laughs to herself, looking up at the stars and stretching her arms above her head. She should...head back to campus.]

[Will she remember this? Who knows.]

It's been a while since he was on campus this late, but it still feels the same as always. The real weird part is heading to Aube's dorm instead of Lumière, and he gives the other building a lingering look before sighing to himself and focusing on the way ahead.]
You know, don't think I've ever been to your room. We really do need to see each other more often.
no subject
She looks back at him, before nodding.]
You should come over more! My room's always open to you. Unless Kohaku doesn't want you there.
no subject
[Although he wouldn't be surprised that people find him objectionable on sight alone... Despite Adelaide calling him handsome and cute in just this conversation alone, he's pretty positive that he cuts a rough silhouette and his attractiveness is more unconventional than anything. Adelaide's the weirdo.]
Maybe I'll take you up on that. You can come by my room at the inn, too. Mousie's around there when he's not busy with school and work and shit, so it's like a two for one deal.
[or at least that was the plan afaik for the time being re: Toki, shrug... either way, gotta upsell because what if he's not enough!!]
no subject
[There's a beat, as Adelaide considers this before nodding.]
Yeah, that sounds good. It'd be nice to see you in your natural habitat.
no subject
[Did she forget or does she just like Kohaku's more... Anyway.]
I'm fucking hurt. The world is my natural habitat. I'm always authentically Maverick, king of the universe.
no subject
[It's hard out there with a psychic sword.
She snorts, before nodding.]
Yeah, yeah. I don't think I've ever seen you be any less than your best.
no subject
[But... Yeah... He doesn't need a psychic sword in his life. He's glad Nana had the sense not to ask him to help out beyond the campaign, like being a running mate or something weird.]
Dunno 'bout that. I was fucking being dumb as hell when I first got my Contract... I don't even think I told you that's what it was, bothering me. You fucking fixed me up right anyway, though.
no subject
[Also she's definitely not perfect, not in the slightest, but she's going to not bring that up because she doesn't want to drag the mood down.]
Aren't most people dumb when they get Contracts? No offense, but...
no subject
[How will she feed herself and others? Just because a guy bought her drink tonight doesn't mean she could rely on that every night. People were just too stupid!]
That's a fair point, but you're still fucking rude.
no subject
[It's a hard knock life! She needs to spend money! You can't not spend money!
She snorts.]
Sorry, sorry, I don't mean to offend.
no subject
For real, though. Contracts ain't worth it, even if I lucked out with my shit by just getting a bad fucking tattoo. [And some trips to the forest now and again.] If you ain't already Contracted yourself, don't ever go and get one, got it? Don't be a dumbass.
no subject
[She tilts her hand.]
I don't think there's anything I could gain from a Contract anyways, so we should be good.
no subject
[That's what he thought, too. Oh well. Time to lean with her against the wall of the elevator after the button gets pushed. Enough with all the sad stuff!!]
...How 'bout bad tattoos? Ever think about one of those?
no subject
[She grins at him.]
I have thought about getting good tattoos, though.
no subject
Eh, I'll be the judge of that. Hit me.
no subject
[For no particular reason.]
no subject
Hey, that could be cute. Depends where you want it, though, and how big. And if you fucking go realistic like this fucking giraffe, it would definitely be on the shitty side of things.
no subject
I don't know where I'd get it, though.
no subject
How's your pain tolerance? Not a bad idea to look up what shit hurts the most before you lock any ideas in.
no subject
It's pretty good. [It's ridiculous is what it is. She doesn't feel much pain, anymore.] What do you think is the worst, though?
no subject
Pretty much what you'd figure would be the worst...
[vague gesture down...anyway]
Otherwise, bits where your skin's real thin, or close to bone. Figure you know this already, but if you do get one, don't do that shit when you're drunk. Or hungover. You gotta be healthy to heal up nice n' shit.
no subject
[Because, you know, that's a valid fear.]
no subject
Dunno. Depends how fucking fast it is, I guess, but it ain't like piercings. Had to tell people I wasn't gonna heal that shit for them and risk the wound closing up around the metal... Long as the ink sets in, I'd figure it's fine.
no subject
[She stops in front of her room, turning to glance at Maverick.]
You wanna come in?
