Who: Adelaide & You!
When: Various times in October
What: Listen, everything’s fine, and no mistakes are being made at all. Also Aube has too much food.
Where: Campus, Soleil.
Warnings: Mentions of blood & alcohol in the Soleil prompt.
campus;
[So far, being a member of the student council isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Sure, she knew there was going to be a lot of math involved, and she doesn’t mind it, but she minds the talking sword. She minds it a lot - it’s really kind of annoying, the way it nags her about money constantly. She has to admit her spending habits have changed since being gifted with the rapier, and she’s not sure how she feels about that.
There’s also the fact that wherever she goes in uniform there’s a trail of yellow rose petals left in her wake. She can’t really get around without being noticed anymore, because the petals are so invasive. She doesn’t even know what to do with them - will they disappear on their own? Should she use them for something? She’s unsure.
Either way, rules are rules and she has to wear her uniform on campus, so she’s a beacon of fiscal responsibility more days than not.]
aube;
[It’s not quite a daily occurrence, but it’s still pretty common to find Adelaide in the kitchen. She’s as prolific a baker as always, and she spends much of her free time baking up something for people to enjoy. She doesn’t have quite as much time to run a stand, what with classes started up again and her new responsibilities, but her dormmates will find the dorm well-stocked with any sort of baked good they could imagine.
Some days when she’s baking she seems...well. Stressed out. Her hair is a mess, and her movements are jerky and uncoordinated like she’s in a rush, and sometimes there’ll be a grimace on her face. She’s...Well. Trying to seem like she’s not bothered, though.]
soleil;
[This may have been...a mistake. A grave mistake, some could say. She’s not really sure what compelled her to go out to town tonight, but it’s probably because she’s lonely. She could go seek out company with someone she already knows - go talk to Maverick, or go check in on Rex, or maybe ask if Lia wanted to make something - but she doesn’t do that. Instead, she goes out to Soleil and finds herself in a bar.
She can’t get drunk the traditional way. She gets nothing by going to a bar, except...Well.
Just this once won’t hurt, right? She’s not going to kill anyone and she’s pretty sure the guy eyeing her up won’t mind. Just one bite won’t hurt.]
Ah, fuck.
[She pushes herself upright, stepping into the crowd at the bar. She’s really going to do this, huh?]
soleil part 2;
[She’s pleasantly buzzed, and wobbles a bit when she walks. She’s left the bar for the streets, and the guilt hasn’t quite set in yet. She can still taste the blood on her tongue, and she’s surprised it was as potent as it is.
Huh. Maybe she should be concerned about that. But she isn’t.
She laughs to herself, looking up at the stars and stretching her arms above her head. She should...head back to campus.]
wildcard;
[Throw whatever you want at me! If you want something specific, feel free to hit me up on the game Discord or at
daintily!]

Aube, of course. ...Aube course.
He never brings up the Grimm attack, or, like. Anything serious. But even though today's a day he'd rather slip on by and stash his books before... whatever it is he does after classes, her frazzled everything gives him pause. After just a moment's hesitation, he lets himself be seen.]
Hey. Are you okay?
no subject
[Adelaide's not exactly surprised by someone being there - she has the unfair advantage of being able to hear heartbeats. It's kind of hard to hide from her.
But she is surprised that it's Therion, and that he's...asking her if she's okay.
She blinks a bit, before shrugging one shoulder and turning back to the oven.]
I'm fine.
[She is not the best liar in the world.]
no subject
[Ooooookay. Looks like he's got himself a nice new hoodie, at least. It says L'Académie Daybreak in fancy cursive. He stole it.
He enters the kitchen, looking around for a place he won't be in the way.]
In a hurry?
no subject
She raises an eyebrow at the hoodie, but who doesn't have Daybreak merch by now?]
...Not really. I'm just waiting for the cupcakes to finish baking.
[A pause.]
There are cookies cooling, if you want some.

Hey! Bumble!
[It's her, holy fuck!!!! And she looks cheerful, which is good because he's too excited at the sight of her to wipe that stupid grin off his face.]
You done for the night? Here I fucking thought it was just starting...
Oh Boy
She raises a hand in greeting, grinning wide. She's a bit unsteady on her feet, but that's fine.]
Hey, I've been out for a while. And I've got class tomorrow!
[Trying to be responsible...Truly, she is the worst.]

Right. Wouldn't wanna miss shit like that. Fucking ridiculous... Come on, I walk you home before you decide to take interpretative liberties with your nickname.

campus;
Today's a day for the latter.
It's around the time she's settled on a place to sit herself when she sees Adelaide going about her own day, and it really is hard to not notice the trailing petals or the rapier's apparent inability to just shut up. God, that's what the council has to deal with? Flower petals for days and the magical talking weapon version of Clippy? She'd probably have died of embarrassment within hours, assuming that embarrassment can, in fact, kill her. (Spoiler: it probably can't.)
If Adelaide does look her way at any point while going by, she waves.]
no subject
She doesn't think much about Rebecca when she sees her - she looks young, certainly, but Puella is young and so's Vivi and so many other people at this school. It's just a sad fact in life that their fight includes people of all ages.
She waves back, though, a bright grin on her face. The rose petals dance dramatically in the air, carried on a magic breeze that exists just to make Adelaide's life harder.]
no subject
Pulling a sandwich from her box and unwrapping it, Becky gets ready to take a bite from it when the inevitable happens: a gust of wind, natural or otherwise, sends some of those petals right at her, with perfect timing to get a few into her mouth before she really even notices it's happening.
Cue awkward sputtering.]
no subject
Adelaide covers her mouth with a hand, smothering her laughter. She feels...a little bad. Just a little.]
Sorry about that!
[She calls out, waving her hands.]
They're kind of a mess, huh?

Soleil part 2!
Sans her usual outfit, now -- no, she's in a coat, jeans, hiking boots, and even has her hair down, so she can pull a knit cap over her head. She is back from a three hour hike into the woods, to the tunnels she likes... and, to where the Giraffe is, to keep her end of the pact. She came into Soleil for a drink.
She pauses -- turns to look at Adelaide -- and then raises a hand to wave, though it's a touch awkward. Like she got caught doing something.]
O-oh! Hello, Adelaide!
no subject
She wonders why she looks so...guilty.
Well, whatever.]
Hey, Nana! Enjoying a night out on the town?
[...In your hiking gear.]
no subject
Mm-hm! I thought, ah, I'd take a nice long walk!
[Like... that completely explains the hiking gear.]
What about you?
no subject
Whatever. Nana can have her secrets.]
I was out. [She waves a hand behind her.] But it's getting late, so I should get back to campus.

I was thinking of maybe keeping it and styling it into a full goatee or van dyke for my costume.
no subject
Well you're capable of growing more than a weedy little mustache so that's a good start. Styling would probably help.

soleil part 2
ana pauses and looks at adelaide with mild concern. ]
...Are you alright?
no subject
The last time she ran into Ana it went...okay. But Adelaide is still certain the other girl should hate her, resent her, that she's at a loss for words for a moment.]
I'm...fine.
no subject
[ called out. ana eyes her one more time before she turns in the other direction -- towards daybreak -- and gestures at adelaide. ]
Come, now. Let's get you back to the academy safely.
[ one of her hands slides into the pocket of her jeans. she has her head turned towards adelaide slightly, eyeing her, watching her movements until adelaide falls to her side. if she chooses to, that is. ]
no subject
[She flaps a hand, as if that'll convince Ana she's okay.
She reluctantly falls into step with her.]
Plus there's not much that can hurt me anymore.
