time for birb
Who: Vivi and you!
What: Vivi finally gets out of his room. And he's got a new....friend in tow?? (It's a chocobo)
Where: Around campus!
When: Early June
Warnings: Shouldn't be any. I'll match your format!
A. Egg
[ Vivi has been dutifully going to classes and really not much else for the past month, and staying in his room the rest of the time. But around early June, when the weather is well and truly warmed up, you can see him trundling across campus determinedly with a well-swaddled bundle. The sled he'd used for Jailbreak's class a few months back has been repurposed to hold this vaguely spherical burden.
What is it? What is it for? It's a mystery, at least if you don't just ask him about it. He can be found towing it everywhere, and anxiously checking on it. ]
B. Chicken(???)
[ About a week in, the sled has stopped containing a bundle of blankets, and now contains a nest. Vivi is still dragging it around and anxiously checking on its wellbeing, but the creature within seems far more active.
This is because it's a fluffy little bird of some kind. It seems to be enjoying the sun, at least, and the amount of freedom it has, though its rapid, urgent chirping and peeping at various points of the day indicate that it's almost constantly hungry, and is probably a major source of Vivi's visible anxiety.
If Vivi knows you, he might ask you for tips on bird or pet care, completely unprompted. He's doing his best. ]
C. Wildcard
[ Anything else? ]

Well met, Vivi. Is that that health class project with the fake baby?

It's just an egg. The other mages said that I could have it, since everyone wanted to work on, um...you know. [ Like trying to find a solution for the whole time limit thing. ] They said I shouldn't worry about all the other stuff and take care of this egg instead.

WOULD THEY? ]
They said it was, um. A 'chocobo'? It's an Outlands bird. It runs really fast.
I don't know a lot else about it, though... [ The egg wobbles a little, though it's unclear whether it's from the movement of the creature inside or just because Vivi is tugging it around in a sled. He crouches to adjust it anyway.
He's clearly also just preoccupied with the idea of what if they gave me a person egg by accident oh no now though ]

I can't say I'm used to taking care of pets, but it might be hungry?
[Excuse her though, she's gonna see about petting this cute lil feathery friend.]

[ He turns his attention to the immediate problem, though. He always has food on hand now; they seem to be hungry all the time. The chick is temporarily placated by what appears to be some kind of mush.
While it's eating, it graciously allows itself to be petted. It's incredibly soft and downy. ]
It's hungry all the time...I've never had pets, so I dunno if it's supposed to be like that or I'm not feeding them enough...or I'm doing something wrong... [ He has a lot of worries. ]

[SOFT BIRD FRIEND...]
Well, the little one just hatched, right? Might grow out of needing quite so much food once it's older.
no subject
I hope so...It's kinda hard to study when I have to feed them so much. I have to do it all at night, when they're asleep.
Are you gonna get a pet while you're here? [ It seems like the obvious question to him, at least. ]

Sherlock tentatively put his hand out towards it]
It might be hungry, maybe try some seeds or grub?
no subject
[ He sounds worried.
The little bird mouths at Sherlock's finger, clearly mistaking it for food, before Vivi distracts it with a spoonful of what looks like an unattractive mush. Still, from the way it voraciously swallows, it doesn't seem to find it objectionable. ]
I don't know a lot about birds, though. Bird parents must have things really hard, if all baby birds are this hungry.
no subject
[He didn't mind the nip, in fact he seems a little relieved the chick find him more like food than something frightening]
I believe you can tell what they're supposed to eat by the shape of their beaks - Darwin did an extensive study of finches base on their beaks... it kind of looks like a parrot's beak.

A, Dorm
Has it hatched yet??? [She also just wanted to see bird babyyy. Given how cute the bigger ones were this one had to be adorable.]
no subject
I don't think so-
[ But he's interrupted by a cracking noise, immediately proving him wrong. He scrambles to pull the blankets and wrappings off, but he's having some trouble with it. ]
no subject
[She went in to help pull the blankets off. Please be okay, little bird!!]

She's not at all familiar with how to care for birds of any sort, but it's pretty clear that Vivi's little friend there really wants something.]
Ah, Vivi? He— [Is it a he? Maybe, maybe not. She corrects herself for now and keeps on going.] It's probably hungry. Do you know what it eats?
chicken chicken chicken
They said the adults eat vegetables, so I guess the, um, chicks, also eat vegetables...? I made a paste. [ Which he's now bringing out in a container, with a spoon, to feed this loud baby with. Here comes the airplane??
The chick chomps down on the spoon's handle instead of the food, apparently more interested in shiny things. Vivi is having a little bit of difficulty trying to convince them to let go of it. ]

She then crouches next to the sled, bringing herself down closer to the bird's level for a better look at it.] Does it have a name yet?

But all he does is perch on the side of the sled, checking in on Baby. It'll probably outgrow him pretty quickly...]
< Hey. How's it going? >
no subject
They're okay. Um, healthy, I think. [ They sure are noisy, so he assumes they're doing fine. ] Birds sure grow fast...
no subject
< Oh, I know. Do you need help? What do they eat? >

Indrik is listening more to his cat type instincts today as he attempts to sneak up on the bird. This hindered by the fact his fat belly scrapes the ground as he 'stalks', and his tail swishing smacks into a bin and knocks it over and he's making a constant 'mrrnmrrnmrrn' cow noise as he approaches. ]
no subject
Oh!
Um, hello! Are you hungry? [ He doesn't know what Indrik's up to but in his limited experience animals tend to just Be Hungry all the time. ] Or do you want something?
A....
Ultimately when it's especially close he finally decides to just track it down, rose petals swirling behind him as he goes.
He's rather surprised to see what it is.] Auh...
Is...that a sled? [Because well, obviously what's ON the sled is an EGG.]

Was it especially difficult? It appears you have a rather delicate thing to carry with it.
