Around Campus

Ren is typically... not chipper, per se, but at least reasonably alert and with it. Recently though, he seems like he's been a bit tired. It's not super noticable but he's definitely taking a few naps in class from time to time which he wouldn't usually do - he's still strategic enough to do it in classes with teachers he can more or less get away with it, but it's unusual.

Those who know him, especially those in his dorms, will note he's been out fairly often during the night. Those who've investigated will find he's been taking helicopters down to Lyon on the regular, usually after class and usually not getting back until fairly late at night. It's been fairly regular for the last few weeks at the very least.

Lyon - the Outlands



Those who find themselves in Lyon, especially those within the Outlands in Lyon will find a young man prowling the area in a trenchcoat, staking out an old-style Chateau that's sprouted up in the middle of what would be the city core. The Chateau is absolutely crawling with strange, generally hostile Outland creatures that appear as twisted vestiges of masked humans in medieval court attire that, when unmasked, morph into monsters. He moves through the Chateau stealthily, taking down choice targets with quick assassinations and casing the entire area.

Back on Campus in a few weeks



Daybreak generally gets local news from Lyon, and reports will start to filter that a local politician had been incarcerating disadvantaged locals on trumped up charges and pressing them into unpaid labor, which he would sell to companies for a tidy profit that he then embezzled. For whatever reason, he's appeared on TV recently, confessing to his crimes and providing ample documentation to support it. His arrest is a huge scandal, which is making the rounds on TV.

In surely completely unrelated news, Ren is now back on campus more regularly, coming back to the dorms on time (except for when he's working at the bar) and not falling asleep in class anymore.

Totally unrelated, I'm sure.

Who: Young Goro Akechi and OPEN, then regular Goro Akechi and also OPEN
What: Science experiments and fairy rings
When: Late April and early May, respectively
Where: The alchemy labs, and then the green areas of campus
Warnings: Improper lab safety for the former and wardrobe malfunctions for the latter

[Should it Be That Color?]

[Akechi has told his younger self multiple times not to run around campus without supervision. The younger version has ignored him every time, knowing his future self can't actually enforce this while he's in class. Thus, as classes are just letting out for the day and the regular Akechi is heading back to the dorm (to probably be gross with his new boyfriend), he sneaks off to the main building.

It's actually complete coincidence that he happens on an empty alchemy classroom, but he capitalizes on the opportunity. He rifles through the cabinets, marveling at the stocked ingredients and flipping through textbooks. Eventually, he decides to try putting what he's reading to the test. .....Not long after, there's a loud 'BOOM' from inside the room, and he stumbles out, coughing and covered in splattered and burned potion ingredients.]

[Time for a Makeover.]

[Once the children are gone back where they came from, Akechi can finally relax a little. Unfortunately for him, relaxing also means not paying as much attention to his surroundings, and his mind wanders off as he's crossing the quad. He doesn't even notice the circle of mushrooms until he's already stepped into it, and his body changes dramatically. Feathers sprout from his arms and shoulders, ruining his sleeves and the back of his shirt, and his legs transform to look like those of a bird, fortunately slowly enough for him to pry his shoes off. He can feel his figure changing, upsetting his center of balance as he's working on his second shoe, and the combination of that and the talons sends him toppling over with a caw-like cry...destroying the fairy ring in the process. By the time he hits the ground, he's changed into a harpy with the wings, tail, and legs of a magpie...though, he fortunately still has hands attached to the wrists of his wings.]
