Who: Yuya, people invited to his birthday

What: Yuya goes on a birthday excursion for with everyone he invited and who also talked their way into an invitation

Yuya spends the few days leading up to the first of March in a barely contained excitement as he plots out how to best use the school's helicopter transport, deliver word of mouth invites, and set a time to celebrate his 15th. Ultimately it's decided that because the trip is a few hours to make it a day event, with the helicopters taking off early and returning late into the night. Sticking with the group is probably advisable, although with so much time it's expected some people will wander. Yuya just wants a day to spend with his friends, instead of doing anything intricate.

The early hours are largely spent touring and window shopping, taking long walks through the markets, sampling food, or appreciating the rich art history on display. There's a lot of museums, parks, and it's the bright clear day. Chilly, though, so hopefully everyone brought jackets.

In the afternoon, they can hitch a ride on one of the paddle streamers along the river Elbe. It's a few hours of tour that takes them by the castles. The tickets aren't too expensive, but if someone can't afford it Yuya will spend some of his own money to spot them the ticket.

After the sun starts to wane and the temperature drop, it's off to warmer places. For those with the cash to spend, there's an opera house they might be able to catch a show at. Otherwise, the plan is to crowd up in some bakery-style restaurant for dinner and cake.

[This actually steals Ren's breath for a moment, and there's a noticeable pause before he responds with a somewhat shy smile]

Good, I prefer it that way.

[ Oh no, he's really cute? Minako notices the pause but doesn't make a big deal out of it, turning to look at the otters and giving Ren a moment to compose himself. Her gaze trails back toward him when she speaks. ]

...Was there anything here that you wanted to see?

[There's a short pause, and then]

Tigers.

[missleading]

[ Minako pauses before holding back a laugh. ]

You really like cats, huh?

[prisoneroffate]

They always live their best lives. It's admirable.

[missleading]

Don't they just sleep all the time?

[ Sounds like her brother. ]

[prisoneroffate]

Well, maybe most of the time.

[Ren fails to see the problem here]

[missleading]

[ Ren, you're going to sleep your life away with that mindset! ]

Well, hopefully they're awake when we get there. Ready to go?

[prisoneroffate]

Yeah, let's go.

[Arriving at the pen, they manage to get a full view of the tiger very attentively licking it's butt. Ren's next remark is almost immediate, without missing a beat]

Isn't it majestic?

[missleading]

It's... something, all right.

[ Ah, isn't nature beautiful? Just don't stare directly at it, that's rude. ]

I feel like this is my experience with every cat, no matter how big.

[He almost sounds hurt]

[missleading]

Maybe they all feel comfortable when they're in your presence?

[ She's trying really hard to make him feel better about his misfortune. ]

That would definitely be an explanation.

It's a good thing, right?

[ A little uncomfortable at times like this, but still positive. ]

It means you have a relaxing presence.

[Ren watches as the Tiger lets out a heavy yawn and flops onto its side]

Yeah, that must be it.

[missleading]

I feel relaxed when I'm around you, so it must be true.

Oh. Uh.

[Does it seem like it's getting warm all of a sudden?]

[missleading]

[ It's hard to say if she realizes that she's flustered him or not, as she brings him closer to the edge of the enclosure. ]

Hmm, I guess big cats aren't that different from house cats. I wonder if we can get him to come over.

[ And what will you do if he does, Minako? There's a giant pane of glass in the way... ]

[prisoneroffate]

Hard to say. I don't think cats are good at doing what you want them to.

[And as the tiger is now gently snoring, that definitely seems to be true today]

[missleading]

[ That just gives more credence to her assessment, as Minako smiles apologetically at Ren. ]

At least he looks comfortable? I hope you're not too disappointed.

[ He's out cold, what a shame. ]

It's fine, this was expected. Where to next?

Hmm...

[ She tilts her head, thinking for a moment. ]

I wonder if they have a petting zoo.

[prisoneroffate]

Bet they do, wanna go find it?

[missleading]

[ Leading them down the path towards the petting zoo, the area is filled with various animals; each type kept in its own area. At the center is what appears to be a pond willed with koi, and a large tortoise lounging on a rock. ]

I don't think turtles are the first thing I would have expected here.
