Who: Yuya, people invited to his birthday
When: March 1
Where: Dresden, Germany
What: Yuya goes on a birthday excursion for with everyone he invited and who also talked their way into an invitation
Warnings: None probably?? Play nice
Yuya spends the few days leading up to the first of March in a barely contained excitement as he plots out how to best use the school's helicopter transport, deliver word of mouth invites, and set a time to celebrate his 15th. Ultimately it's decided that because the trip is a few hours to make it a day event, with the helicopters taking off early and returning late into the night. Sticking with the group is probably advisable, although with so much time it's expected some people will wander. Yuya just wants a day to spend with his friends, instead of doing anything intricate.
The early hours are largely spent touring and window shopping, taking long walks through the markets, sampling food, or appreciating the rich art history on display. There's a lot of museums, parks, and it's the bright clear day. Chilly, though, so hopefully everyone brought jackets.
In the afternoon, they can hitch a ride on one of the paddle streamers along the river Elbe. It's a few hours of tour that takes them by the castles. The tickets aren't too expensive, but if someone can't afford it Yuya will spend some of his own money to spot them the ticket.
After the sun starts to wane and the temperature drop, it's off to warmer places. For those with the cash to spend, there's an opera house they might be able to catch a show at. Otherwise, the plan is to crowd up in some bakery-style restaurant for dinner and cake.
((This is a mingle style log, so feel free to make toplevels and tag each other. It's mostly a loosely planned free for all trip.))

Yuya | OTA
[This is Yuya's first time in Germany, despite the school being so close to the border. The novelty of it it is exciting on its own, but Dresden is also a beautiful city. Yuya has his phone out often, turning it sideways as he snaps pictures of the streets, statues, parks.
Hellerau in particular, has him slowing down to appreciate the garden city and its fantasy-like buildings with a wide smile on his face.
Other times his face presses close to shop windows, befor he points it out to the nearest person and slips inside to peruse it. Sometimes his intention is to actually purchase something, but just as often it's not.]
[Noon]
[Yuya leans against the railing as the paddle steamer sails, perfectly at home over the water.
There's a tourguide to the front, giving lectures and stories of the region and the castles. Yuya listens, sometimes, amd then others he moves one way and the other on the boat to check out the view and chat.] This is pretty cool. Think they let people in the castles?
[Night]
Thank you so much for coming.
[It's a little sudden and unprompted, while people are crowded around a table to wait out the last couple hours with a meal. Yuya looks up from his, menu to everyone, smiling with warmth. He's just really happy, spending the day surrounded by friends.]
Fakir | OTA
[Between drama club being the closest to a social circle he has, someone needing to translate given no one else there knows German, and a bit of homesickness, he opted to come along, more people watching than anything, however he has very important advice for the disasters, because he can't trust some people to not get into trouble.]
Okay. If you get separated - you need this phrase: Sprechen Sie Englisch? or Sprechen Sie Französisch if French is more comfortable for you. Most Germans know some English, not all of them are going to be fluent. Follow by: Vo is as and the name of the place you're looking for.
[He is careful to say the phrases slowly]
Noon
[He leans the rails of the paddle boat, idly watching the buildings go by when someone calls out his name, Fakir stands up in surprise, looking around when a woman in her 20s quickly ran over to him, and they quickly conversed in German - their dialect distinctive from the rest of the passengers, then the woman suddenly gives a very embarrassed young man a hug before noticing the other students - and she cheerily greets them in English]
Night At the Opera
Der Freischütz... Well, the tickets are pretty affordable.
[He'd just go, but Karon had gotten after him for not being sociable, so he's going to see who is interested in seeing a show]
There's an opera going on tonight, would you be interested in seeing it? It's a pretty interesting one.
Wildcard!
(ooc: hit me up at
Noon
When she turns to greet him, Yuya offers her a smile and a wave.] Hello! You know Fakir?
[He doesn't know any German besides the couple of tourist phrases Fakir just taught them and bratwurst. So he hasn't the foggiest what they were discussing, but if she's hugging them he assumes they're close.]

This is Raetsel, she was my neighbor back home. And this is Yuya Sakaki...
[She waves, switching to accented English]
I used to watch him all the time while his parents worked, he's practically my little brother. I didn't expect to see him here. Are you on a field trip?

[ First Paris, and now Dresden, this is about as much sightseeing as Kano's been allowed to do in his entire three years at the school all condensed into a single week and he's living for it, hands pressed against the helicopter window the entire flight over as if his little extra weight could tip the helicopter his way and offer him a better view of the ground below. Has he ever flown in a helicopter? He's pretended to, once.
He laughs.
This is absolutely terrifying. ]
Helicopters are the ones that can fly backwards, right? Or was that upside down? I wonder if the pilot'll fly us upside down? We can say it's a birthday wish~
ii. OTA, around Dresden
[ Even though this is a birthday trip, Kano abandons the birthday boy and the rest of the party the moment they land on solid ground— he makes a beeline for the closest restroom, actually, and doesn't come out until everybody else has dispersed, after which he takes to wandering the town by himself.
He runs into people here and there throughout the day, but doesn't stay long, always with his phone in his hand and glancing up and down from it when he walks.
He doesn't meet up with everybody at the opera house, and he also misses the birthday dinner. ]
iii. closed to Yuya
[ It's getting pretty close to when the helicopters are supposed to be picking them up again that night, when Yuya gets a text from Kano. ]
Happy birthday~!!!
I have something for you~
It's a present!
I wanted to give it to you before we leave!
Unfortunately, I've gotten lost ☆
1 also I’m sorry
This is because she sometimes gets airsickness pretty bad, thinks that’s embarrassing, and the medication knocks her out for hours. Her distraction is because she is mentally focused on one thing. She repeats it in her mind like a sacred mantra:
Don’t throw up on Kano.
Her eyes flutter open and she looks at Kano when he talks with a strange, slightly strained smile.]

[ To say that Minako has been looking forward to this trip is a gross underestimation. The days leading up to it, she's been busy, and can be found running around the campus picking up various odd jobs.
Need her to deliver mail or a package to someone? Meet your personal courier! Stopping by the campus cafe to get a snack or your daily caffeine kick? Minako's got you covered! Need some coverage somewhere? This girl is ready and willing to take any and all requests! ]
Hiya! What can I do for you?
[ But what is she working so hard for, exactly? ]
( BEFORE THE PARTY; OPEN TO ALL BUT YUYA )
[ And yet somehow, despite working seemingly day and night, Minako finds some time to visit... You! There's a knock at the door, and a chipper reply; ]
Hello? Is anybody in there?
( MORNING; CLOSED TO REN )
[ Their afternoon and evening are spoken for, but that gives them the entire morning to descend upon this city like the energetic teenagers they are. But instead of going with a larger group into town, Minako has a mission.
For you see, there's a statement that she made to a certain boy the last time they went on a maybe-possibly-could-be-a-date date. Today's destination? Zoo Dresden.
Partially because she's never been to a zoo like this before, and because she can pay for admission beforehand. Sorry Ren, you're not paying. She's a working woman now, and she's made sure she gets the bill this time. ]
Ren, look look! Koalas!
[ Is she bouncy because she's excited to see the animals, or because she's excited to see them with him? She'll never tell~ ]
( EVENING )
[ Look out, a bunch of teens have swarmed this poor restaurant. As dinner is served Minako waits until everyone is settled in to stand, tapping her water glass with a fork. ]
If I could have your attention please!
[ She waits until everyone has settled down; making a few comments with a grin if anyone protests. ]
We all know why we're here: To celebrate the birthday boy here! [ She lifts her glass toward Yuya. ] So, who wants to start us off with a toast?
[ Minako, you're kind of setting yourself up for that, but okay... ]

Nana | ota!
[Nana is definitely down for shopping. At the moment, she's making her way through the market. It's probably no great surprise that the girl who loves to bake is... well... going for the places with all the fresh ingredients. She's looking over stalls selling both baked goods -- streudel! -- and the ones selling the raw ingredients, from produce to chocolate.
She looks happy. This is really exciting. Nana is gleefully looking down at some of it.]
Ah, this looks so good...! I didn't bring enough shopping bags. [She has two. And her trusty backpack.]
B. LET'S EXPLORE A CASTLE
[Nana loves castles. She could say it's for school-related reasons -- seeing famous landmarks and ancient construction is a good way to expand her repertoire of what she can make with her powers -- but it's just a love for that sort of scenery.
Which is why she's standing in line.
...again. She just did this tour already. She still bounces with excitement, as she looks up at a big, imposing medieval castle with unmasked excitement all over her face.]
C. ALLES GUTE ZUM GERBURTSTAG; closed to Yuya
[All told, Nana spent most of the day with Yuya. Yuya's her best friend -- and while she broke off a few times to do something (like shopping), she was here to spend it with him.
It's on the way to the restaurant that she catches up with him. She takes a quick, long step and then ends up walking at his side. Nana peers down (...a lot of the way down, given their difference in height) and beams.]
Having fun?

Yeah! I'm really glad everyone came, it's been great.

Naoki | OTA
[Nobody actually invited him here, but as soon as Naoki caught wind that the trip was happening at all he'd already invited himself and nobody could stop him. At the very least he's taken the precaution of covering up, layering pre-prepared illusions over his facial markings and concealing the rest with loose-fitting clothing. It leaves him feeling uncomfortable and edgy the whole helicopter ride over, but sometimes you just gotta make sacrifices.
Still, he's glad to be back on solid ground. He practically leaps out the door as soon as they land, jogging a solid few feet before glancing back at whoever happens to be closest.]
Where are we going first? [Dresden's a big city, Naoki doesn't want to miss anything if he can avoid it.]
Late.
[The upside to having Naoki in a paddleboat with you is that he winds up doing most of the work. Daemonic stamina is good for something after all, it turns out, since he's been at this for a solid half hour with no signs of tiring. The downside is there's a lot of work, since he's a lot heavier than he looks. Still, he's content to keep his mouth shut and his eyes on the water.
That is, until there's a flicker of motion just beneath the surface that grabs his attention and he goes reaching over the edge to grab it, threatening to tip the boat in the process. Oops.]
REALLY Late.
[Dinner's good, which isn't saying much since Naoki will eat pretty much anything. But the *food* is good, and the company's... okay. It's still weird, being this close to this many people at once. He's not really sure how to process it. But that's fine, he doesn't have to, because there's cake an alcohol and he helps himself to plenty of both. As time goes on, though, his intake turns pretty much entirely liquid and wow it's actually starting to get kind of hot in here.
How much did he have to drink again?
Eh, doesn't matter. He's tough, he can take it. But all these people, it's starting to get all... ugh, what's the English word? Scrunched? No, that can't be it. Whatever it is, he needs to get out of here, get some space. Naoki suddenly pushes away from the table and swings to his feet. He tries to excuse himself gracefully but all that comes out is:]
I gotta go.
[And there he goes, stumbling out the door and into the street.]
Early
[Yuya pulls his phone out to pop open his maps so they can navigate. Getting lost can happen once they're already in city.]

really late...
[ Kano has to side-step out of the way before he crashes into Naoki somewhere close to the restaurant, somewhat surprisingly since he hadn't actually gone to dinner with the rest of them and had made himself scarce since the helicopter ride over.
He doesn't want to be seen near the restaurant yet, so he pulls the hood of his jacket over his head like that'd hide his identity from anybody who'd run out of the restaurant after Naoki, and leans over to look Naoki's face over. ]

GONGENZAKA | OTA
[For all that Gongenzaka would have been visibly anxious getting on the helicopter, it would appear that he takes to tourism with remarkable ease. It isn't as though Gongenzaka somehow dislikes 'fun' or anything like that. It's just...well, he doesn't exactly get out much. Even before he came to Daybreak, most of his time was either in school, or in the dojo's compound- any exceptions were because Yuuya pulled him there.
Which to be fair is how the day would have started, but here he is now. For the most part, many of the locations they've been looking around at have been regal in appearance- baroque designs, magnificent gardens, and utterly stunning art pieces.
And then there's this. Gongenzaka is currently marveling at the 'Court of Elements', where a system of bizarre pipes sit waiting for the next rainfall. Beyond that there's the sheer spectacle of everything else- the Courtyard of Light, Animals, Mythical creatures...it's a whole run of art far beyond the likes that Dresden is known for, and Gongenzaka seems to be enjoying it thoroughly.
Though shouldn't they get going if they want to do anything else?]
[Food, Gifts,]
Hmmnnn... [It's technically a mall, but it's a shopping center that's large enough that it's going to have a whole bunch of stuff that the tourists present will be going around. Gongenzaka is presently debating between a few gift shops, staring at the map (sadly in german) erected near the entrance.]
What to do... [He already. Has something for Yuuya of course but, it wouldn't help to get a little souvenir for himself right..?]
[BOAT TIME | Yuuya]
Auh! Yuuya!
[They were all of course supposed to meet back together and be able to have the boat tour- that much was a given. But, with how the rest of the day is laid out, Gongenzaka wants to make sure to catch Yuuya specifically before they get on.] Yuuya! [he eagerly shouts, somewhat awkwardly fumbling with a bag.]
...I, the man Gongenzaka, have a gift for you! [Haaaaappy birthdaaaaay,]
[Bear Time, For Bears]
[The day passes quickly, and the evening even faster. It isn't long before it's time to head home- and given the trip itself is a few hours, Gongenzaka takes that moment to raise a hand and politely make a request.] Auh- if I may, I will need to transform before we take off...
I will be over there, [he gestures, pointing toward a relatively well covered spot near the helipad.] And it should only take a few moments...
[So off he goes. It really won't take more than a few minutes- but who in the group is patient enough for that, and who in the group is going to take the chance to see a lycanthrope transform?]
[WILDCARD | Got other ideas? Gongenzaka is enjoying himself a fair bit right now, so have at!]
