PAYBACK TIME
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation
The daemon base was large, a massive obsidian skull carved from the base of a black, foreboding mountain within the Outlands and surrounded by a forest of dead trees. This was inevitable, as accompanying faculty could explain. As much as it could influence the human world, the Outland was heavily influenced and shaped by human thought and culture. Weaker daemons, such as those within the base, would find their personality, forms, and even desires inexorably shaped by the thoughts of humanity and what was perceived humans would expect and fear.
The focus of the two main assault groups would be the clearing of the main hall and the lower dungeons. The groups will be divided as follows:
Main Hall:
Ky
Mav
Kanata
Tyzias
Gunvolt
Bumblebee
Main Hall Support:
Toki
Kano
Dungeon:
Valvatorez
Goro Akechi
Ren
Minako
Naoki
Keith
Dungeon Support:
Ekkehardt
James
Control Room Supervisor:
Yang
To get through to the fortress proper, the students will have to make their way through the forest. This is an open log, even for those who didn’t sign up and will consist of clearing a path and fighting off living trees and mimics in the form of any number of objects that would otherwise be expected in forests such as rocks, brambles, bushes, and other foliage..
The Main Hall is lined with massive rooms full of daemons such as the banquet hall, treasure vault, and throne room where the daemon lord resides. The Daemon Lord is the target here, and he’ll be well-guarded. Beware! Many of the rooms are trapped with mimics taking the form of treasure chests, braziers, boxes, barrels, and just about any other item.
The Dungeons are where captured humans are kept and tortured. The objective is to free the humans and defeat the Jailer, a powerful Daemon who runs the chambers. Students should beware, doppelgangers are said to be commonly slipped in amongst prisoners to ferret out rebellion and will be hidden in with those who are to be rescued.
The Control Room is located in the Citadel, with a massive monitor visualizing the area with floor plans and video feeds. All students and faculty will be wearing small cameras that will record live footage, and will be wired with a communication earpiece that will let those in the Control Room communicate freely. Students working in the Control Room will be able to relay data and information, and use the powerful supercomputers to analyze items on the ground in near real-time.
ota;
He doesn't want to fall back in with this stuff. But this mission is dangerous, and what good would he be if he let someone out there suffer just because he was afraid?
Hieke manages to keep himself busy around the field that's been set up, trying to focus on keeping things organized and safe and that there's going to be no issues should any students - or faculty - arrive.
As soon as someone approaches he straightens up from whatever task he's doing, brows furrowing together.]
Come in, sit down, let me get a look at you -
[Even to people who don't seem to have any outward injuries. They can't afford to be too careful.]

It had happened before. She would recover. That didn't really help too much right now, but she had helped get everyone to the castle without getting eaten by mimics. Hopefully that would make it all worth it.]
Head hurts...
no subject
He keeps his voice low, and his touch gentle as he smooths a hand over her hair.]
I can take the pain away, at least.
[The magic feels like cool water, spreading from where his hand lays. With it, the pounding of her head would lessen until it eventually fades away. There's not much he can do about her senses fluctuating at the moment, though.]
no subject
Man, you are so cool right now.
no subject
Well, thanks. Don't hear that a lot.

You'd think people would appreciate getting first aid and shit.

It can be kind of a thankless job.

He glances around briefly before sitting down as told, looking sullen. His injuries don't seem outward at least under his clothes.] Hey.
no subject
[No visible signs of injuries, which...isn't necessarily good or bad. At least he's here to be treated.]
I'm going to assume not everything is alright as it seems. Any pain?

[He worries over his lip briefly, feeling even more unsettled. Maybe he should try and call that familiar back here...
He looks up when Hieke reaches out.] Uh, it's on my bicep.
[So he starts to unbutton his shirt, holding in a sound of pain. When he reveals more of his right arm, it's easier to see that the skin that was burned has turned ashy and grey with some normal blistering at the edges. Like some sort of magical allergic reaction.]
no subject
[And ah, that looks bad. Not unfixably bad, but it's clearly not from fighting any daemons. What are these kids getting themselves into?]
What caused it, then?
no subject
[It's probably still out there, fighting. Aw, man...] I got caught in the middle of the fight, it didn't attack me!
no subject
I see. I'm sorry that happened - and this might feel a little strange.
[Hieke places his hand on Yuya's shoulder, being careful not to touch the actual burn. His hand is cold to the touch, though, and Yuya will feel a sensation like cool water being poured down his arm.]

Maverick does his best to keep his distance, but it's getting increasingly difficult to resist looking over, a grimace of pain and uncertainty getting more set by the second.]
no subject
That doesn't look too good.
[He gets the feeling he's going to be a difficult patient, but... That's no reason not to treat him.]
It might take a while to heal, on its own.
no subject
No shit. Natural fucking order of things, ain't it?
[aughhh daemons blehhh]
no subject
Generally, yes.
[Your prickly nature won't be a deterrent, sir.]
I can get you right as rain, though.
[Is he using that phrase correctly? He's pretty sure he is.
He doesn't make any move to approach, yet, instead choosing to just... look at the boy. He wants to help, but helping someone who doesn't want to be helped can cause... problems.]
no subject
I'm not fucking rain. [just in fucking pain. Ugh, this is stupid, which is only helping to make him more defensive about it.] Not like I haven't been a goddamn fistfight before... [probably not with a daemon, but] Others got it worse, didn't they? Banana -- uh, Nana and her bud okay?
no subject
Just because others got it worse than you did doesn't mean you're forbidden from being healed. [It's That Simple.] But Nana's going to be alright, just like everyone I've had to see so far.
no subject
...Knowing Nana's okay -- and everyone else -- does make him feel a little better, though, and his shoulders release some of their tension to show it. Even if they'd had to be fixed by weird daemon magic, at least...they'd been fixed. They'd be alright. Yep, that's okay but not getting his own problems taken care of, because that makes total sense.]
Good.
no subject
So...you'll let me treat you, too? [He's not going to let this go. The school will probably have his head if he just...lets a student walk around still injured.]
