What: Addressing a perceived deficiency in the current curriculum
Where: An empty classroom

[ You might find Ekkehardt out of the infirmary for once, tacking up a few posters here and there where students frequent. They're nondescript and not meant to be particularly noticeable. They provide relevant information about an unofficial self defense class.
The only particularly interesting part (besides Ekkehardt breaking his own routine) is that he's clearly specified that this class is explicitly for noncombatants. ]
B. Introduction
[ Upon reaching the classroom, Ekkehardt is sitting at the teacher's desk with his hands free, for once. There's a selection of various weapons - wooden ones, foam ones, some that are clearly for historical re-enactment - and implements (is that an umbrella?) laid out on the front row of desks. All in good condition (some are practically untouched).
He shows no signs of picking them up, or what they're going to be used for.
When students walk in, he simply nods at them in greeting. The only thing he really says is: ]
Do you have any questions before class starts?
C. Ekkehardt what (Practicals, part 1)
[ After he's deemed there's a reasonable amount of attendance, he stands up and indicates the weapons in all their mismatched glory. ]
All right. Here is the subject of today's class.
One at a time, you'll face off against me. I will have a weapon - you may choose it, if you like. You, on the other hand, will be unarmed.
Your objective is to stop me from touching you with the weapon. Otherwise, I win.
D. NO, REALLY, WHAT (Practicals, part 2)
[ When class is over, he indicates the selection of implements on the desk once more. ]
For the second part of this class, I want you to take one of these with you. Return them to me once you've completed the secondary task - which many of you will find vastly more entertaining, I'm sure.
[ He smiles, faintly. ]
Your objective is to touch or hit me with your weapon of choice. If you can do that, you win. And remember - you don't have to fight me. It's ideal if you do not.
You just need that weapon to make contact with me.
[ Over the next few days, Ekkehardt will be going about his business as usual. If you see him getting assaulted by various students wielding various weapons, he doesn't seem to mind at all.
In fact, he seems to be kind of enjoying it, in a weird way?? ]

[ It'd be easy, but Kano doesn't take the opportunity. There'd be no satisfaction that way, is what he wants to claim, but the smarter part of him says that Ekkehardt would be constantly vigilant and would expect a back attack.
Gotta be patient. And Kano, when he sets his mind on something, is nothing but tenacious. He waits, hands still deep in his pockets and humming a tuneless hum under his breath, leaning slightly to the side around Ekkehardt to see inside the cabinets he's rooting through, if there's anything useful in there that he can ask for specifically, at a later time. ]

This cabinet is full of more ordinary medication, both hospital-grade and the normal kind of things you'd expect to find in a school nurse's stock. Some of them glow faintly in the dark.
He picks up a bottle of iodine, inspects it for a moment, and then puts it back. He pushes aside a few bottles before taking out one that looks fairly similar to the rest. It's quite large. ]
How much do you need, exactly?

That's quite a lot, isn't it? I think... a dozen or so applications worth would be enough? I'm not sure how potent it is, after all, if it's something to dab or wash or soak.

[ He tilts his head, attentive to small movements. ]
Was there something you wanted to know more about, Kano?

He's anxious, though. Just hand him the bottle, Ekkehardt, this is slow and while he's patient for most all things, the anxiety doesn't go away just because he can mask the signs. ]
Hm~ It is something I just use to wipe germs off, right? If I swallow it, I'll get sick or die?

[ Two IC days later, Kano returns to the infirmary and asks Ekkehardt to stitch up a stab wound on his arm.
But as for right now, he really has to wonder... It's not any weapon, so much as it's his foot— he lifts his boot and tentatively pokes the back of Ekkehardt's knees, where any other person's leg would buckle but he wouldn't think this is the same case. ]

Ekkehardt's sense of hearing is keener than it was as a human's, and more finely tuned. With no internal noise to distract him, he can focus entirely on external stimuli. The rustling of clothing alerts him just a little ahead of time.
He shifts a little, anticipating the movement. Kano's little foot tap doesn't hit where it should. He glances back over his shoulder as he screws on the cap of the spare bottle. ]

He also doesn't expect his weak provocation to work, but at least Ekkehardt looks back at him and that's something. ]
Yeah, I'm just standing here thinking about how I'm actively septic and you're so slow giving me my meds.
