New York, New York
Who: Michael and the Drama Club
What: Drama Club class trip to NYC! Gonna see the sights! Absolutely not fight any monsters in the subway tunnels!
Where: A plane / New York City
When: March 29 - March 31
Warnings: None anticipated?
Flyin' High
[The flight to America leaves late - a necessity, given that it's the last day of finals and some students may still have had tests to take. But it's going to be a long one anyway, so sleeping through as much as possible is probably a good idea.
Fortunately, the group has first-class seats. Michael's always willing to spend Daybreak's money, and he's never bothered with human air travel before. He wants the best out of this experience!
This is probably a good thing, because the flight is so, so long. Hopefully you can get some rest.]
Out and About
[We've got a few days to kill in the city!
Michael doesn't want any students going out entirely alone, but he's only one professor and there's a lot of them, so he doesn't mind if people break off to do their own things so long as they're at least partnered up. There's plenty to do in New York, after all! There's no way for one person to see it all during this trip!
Of course, the hotel is also pretty nice, for when you get tired of walking. There's several suites for the students to divide among themselves, while Michael has his own room nearby. It's attached to one of the student rooms by a door which he has very clearly locked and may or may not ever answer. He probably shouldn't be a chaperone.]
Daemons for Ham
[It's time to go see Hamilton! Where did Michael get tickets? Don't worry about it.
He snaps his fingers before the group leaves the hotel, and suddenly you all look like child versions of yourself. Or, at least, what Michael imagines you looked like as children; he only knew a few of you at that time, so he's just making stuff up.]
Now, if anyone speaks to you, you're all orphans from, oh, eight to twelve, and you're dying. Don't take off the illusions, no running - can anyone cry on command? This is important Drama Club stuff.
[And off we go!]

[And off we go!]

We're going to get Minako a dog and a piñata~! You should come; it'll be fun~!
[This is all the context he gets.]
no subject
Hm, yep, we're going out! To buy games and stuff! Yuya, maybe we can find starter packs of your cards somewhere? We also need to buy Sorry!! For board games, it's got to be Sorry!
[ THE BEST GAME to be mean to friends, but also it's a little mean to Toki because he's not allowed to shout out "Sorry!" when betraying other players. ]
no subject
Why are we getting all this for--is it Minako's birthday?!
[That's honestly just the most obvious excuse he can think of. Any more personal reasons to celebrate would be way beyond him.
He likes parties though.] Okay, I'll come! I've got money, so we can find some nice things for her.
no subject
[As Toki has interpreted it, he's not allowed to say 'sorry' to Kano, but he can to other people. He also doesn't know what Sorry! is, but if it's the game Kano wants, that's what they'll find.]
No, a stuffed dog, like a big one, but now that you mention it maybe we should get her a real dog! A cute little puppy~! Yes, it's her birthday! Well, it might be, I'm not sure really because I just knew it after I had that vision of her with the gun! I might be wrong, but she's getting a party anyway and we'll just call it the "We're in New York" party if it's not her birthday after all~!
no subject
A real dog might be a bit irresponsible??? It'll have to take the plane ride back with us, eight hours all alone in the cargo, and that's no good for the dog!
[ Also vaccines and registration and microchips and food and toys and it's just a bad idea, don't buy people pets, Kano learned after getting Ellie a lizard and then she left him with the lizard ]
But about her birthday, you're right about it, so rest assured. You can really learn that stuff from your visions?
no subject
[And then Minako will go and get a real dog somewhere anyway. Yuya is now thinking about how he needs to buy Minako a gift himself, even if he helps with the party, and almost misses their conversation drifting off in his own thoughts.]
It really came up then... maybe that one was mostly metaphorical?
no subject
Okay, no live animals~! Maybe it was, I don't know how that turned out anyway!
[As far as he knows, Minako never had to fight shadow people under a full moon, but no one really tells him what's going on anyway; he's still oblivious to the Hollows for the most part.]
So, I guess I can get that kind of information from visions! Maybe I know so many things that I don't know I know and I won't until it comes up somehow! Anyway! There are things to be done here~! We can't stay in the lobby all day, there's a timetable~!
[There's not, but he thinks it sounds good.]

Alright, alright, let's get a move on, then~ You got a fancy phone, right? Either of you? To look up how to get where we need to go...
[ Because New York is huge and crowds are terrible and the first thing they should buy is that ginormous stuffed dog so they can use it as a battering ram through the crowd. ]
no subject
[Toki's challenged by a lot of things, but hopefully not directions.]
no subject
I just know it's in Rockefeller Center, but I don't... know where that is or where we are, really.
no subject
We have to do it like this, though. Here, here, gimme your hands~
[ He says it to the both of them, but reaches for their hands regardless. Going to make a human chain so they don't get lost, and also— and more importantly— so Kano can zone out while Yuya leads their train and he doesn't have to pay attention to anything or anyone. ]
no subject
He takes Kano's hand in a firm grip when he reaches for it, glancing back to both of them--okay, it's a chain of handholding--before returning his attention to his phone as it pops up the navigation.]
There we go! The Rockefeller Center is... this way, so if it's in there we'll find it!
[He tugs as he takes the lead. It being the weekend, the already often crowded streets are even busier. It's probably ideal they cling so they don't get lost from each other.]
no subject
Hey, Kano!
[It's a poor attempt at whispering, but maybe Yuya won't hear.]
no subject
Hm? What's up?
[ He doesn't even bother whispering, but with his head turned away from Yuya, maybe he can't hear well? If it's a private conversation Toki wants, it really isn't the time or place for it anyways ]
no subject
no subject
Do you want to stay in New York and not go back to France?
no subject
Do you want to run away?
[ He answers Toki's question with a question, wanting to know more about why Toki's asking before he says one way or another. ]
no subject
But only for a second before he pulls them right to continue on their way. He's got to make sure his directions are right.]
no subject
Yes.
[He doesn't elaborate, because he won't be able to stop talking and then Yuya will get involved somehow and convince him it's a bad idea.]
no subject
And you're asking me because you want my opinion of if it's a good idea or not? Or are you asking me 'cause you want me to run away with you? I wouldn't mind.
no subject
[He has fun with Kano, and it would be good to have him around. Somehow, Kano's opinion or validation of this idea also matters.]
no subject
Hm... That's hard, Toki~ There's things I need to get done back in France, after all. But how about this? After all those things are done, let's run away together?
no subject
I think we got lucky, our hotel isn't far at all.
no subject
That's great~! Then we have more time to look around~!
no subject
Yep, and it'll make the trips shorter too~ The mall's just over there, huh? Let's go get a shopping cart! I call shotgun!
