Who: Michael and the Drama Club
What: Drama Club class trip to NYC! Gonna see the sights! Absolutely not fight any monsters in the subway tunnels!
Where: A plane / New York City
When: March 29 - March 31

Flyin' High
[The flight to America leaves late - a necessity, given that it's the last day of finals and some students may still have had tests to take. But it's going to be a long one anyway, so sleeping through as much as possible is probably a good idea.
Fortunately, the group has first-class seats. Michael's always willing to spend Daybreak's money, and he's never bothered with human air travel before. He wants the best out of this experience!
This is probably a good thing, because the flight is so, so long. Hopefully you can get some rest.]
Out and About
[We've got a few days to kill in the city!
Michael doesn't want any students going out entirely alone, but he's only one professor and there's a lot of them, so he doesn't mind if people break off to do their own things so long as they're at least partnered up. There's plenty to do in New York, after all! There's no way for one person to see it all during this trip!
Of course, the hotel is also pretty nice, for when you get tired of walking. There's several suites for the students to divide among themselves, while Michael has his own room nearby. It's attached to one of the student rooms by a door which he has very clearly locked and may or may not ever answer. He probably shouldn't be a chaperone.]
Daemons for Ham
[It's time to go see Hamilton! Where did Michael get tickets? Don't worry about it.
He snaps his fingers before the group leaves the hotel, and suddenly you all look like child versions of yourself. Or, at least, what Michael imagines you looked like as children; he only knew a few of you at that time, so he's just making stuff up.]
Now, if anyone speaks to you, you're all orphans from, oh, eight to twelve, and you're dying. Don't take off the illusions, no running - can anyone cry on command? This is important Drama Club stuff.
[And off we go!]

[ But if it were just a normal car accident, he would have trusted the doctors here to be able to take care of it. This looked much worse, mostly because it was his fault and he wouldn't trust anybody with anything other than Hieke if he wanted them to live, 100%.
As Kano steps out of the bathroom, he casts an illusion over his clothes to make it look like a physician's assistant uniform— but with a student ID badge so he's not actually expected to help out with anything, and can just hang around without getting side-eyed. ]
But he also had that bracelet on, the one that cancels out magic? The doctors took it off and now he's un-magicked and it looked like he was dying? He's missing teeth???? I think I saw bone somewhere and I can't remember if he had both arms still and--
[ Oh, please have both arms. He didn't think to check the pavement for limbs he was supposed to pick up and bring to the hospital. ]

Hieke lets Kano finish his explanation, making his way through the hospital. Theoretically, they shouldn't be that far from Toki's room. He doubts Kano went all the way to the other end of the hospital to summon him, and his instincts are rewarded when they end up at the room.
His brows furrow at the mention of the bracelet - Toki is a seer, isn't he? - but he doesn't say anything about that as he makes his to the bed.]
Calm down. Panicking isn't going to do you any good.
[He reaches out to Toki, placing a hand on his arm. He's checking for his injuries, first, to know how much energy he's going to have to spend patching everything back up.]

Kano shuts his mouth and holds his breath to keep from talking anymore; calm, he can do calm. He also stands by Toki's side, makes sure there's two arms and hands attached to both arms, and holds one of his hands. Tried the healing/numbing thing again.
It might be easier to just kill Toki and then revive him than patching everything up? He can't claim to know how Hieke's powers work. ]

Hieke is relieved when Kano goes quiet, and he takes a moment to appreciate the silence. The injuries are - well. Extensive. He got hit by a car.
But it's not unfixable. In fact, it's incredibly fixable. It'll take a lot of energy out of Hieke, but exhaustion is a price he's willing to pay for these idiot kids. Kano will notice that, slowly, all of Toki's injuries just...fade away until they disappear. Even his teeth grow back, if he's inclined to take a look. There's no sparkle or noise or any sort of sign besides the injuries just not existing anymore.
And then, Hieke lets out a break, shoulders dropping. His hair is a little longer, now, a little curlier at the ends, and his skin seems a bit more...pink? Red? The tips of his ears are a little pointier, teeth are a little sharper. He looks a little more inhuman, now, and he shakes his head.]
We should get him out of here.

He gives Hieke a long suffering look, but he's not in any position to argue. Yes sir, mister demon sir. ]
We're going to break him out of here? Alright.
[ Kano turns his head over Toki's way, and the blankets that covered him turn into a body bag, covering Toki from head to toe and this is how they're going to smuggle him out of here. ]

Hieke gives him a look right back.]
Do you want the doctor's to question why he's managed to recover from every single one of his injuries when they stepped away?
[Kids these days...
Hieke scrubs at his face, trying to get a handle on his appearance, before nodding at the door.]
Let's try to make this quick.

It's a medical miracle? But alright, alright, you hold onto him and keep people out, and I'll call for you! Just wait!
[ It'll be easier like this, the same way Michael brought everybody back from New York with him, Hieke should be able to bring Toki with him so long as Kano summons him outside— and that's where he heads, out the hospital and somewhere outside out of the way of any security cameras, before he draws Hieke's sigil onto the back of his hand. ]

[He has an idea of what he's doing, so he just takes hold of Toki and waits.
He is, admittedly, a little nervous. He doesn't want to get caught. So he's relieved when he feels the pull of the sigil, and in the same lackluster fashion Toki and Hieke end up outside next to Kano.]

There are easier ways.
[Hieke's not really sure what to do with Toki? He just sets him down on the ground, before heaving out a sigh.]
...Okay. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm not going to break his leg, or anything else that would take time to heal. What I am going to do is make him feel like his leg is still, at least, severely injured. I don't like that I'm doing this, but I don't know what you're up to and I don't want to know. It should only last a few days, as long as nobody tells him he's perfectly fine and he believes them.

He gets his eyes to open and he's near some building in maybe a parking lot. He can't see much from his position and he can't get anything to move except a couple of twitching fingers. The voices are becoming a little clearer and Toki thinks one of them sounds like Kano; it's a similar voice and maybe he's speaking English, because Toki can't decipher much. Kano will know what happened. An attempt to ask him only results in a quiet 'hnn' amidst far too much saliva dribbling onto the concrete. Maverick's comment in the bar about 'licking electricity' was so accurate; Toki's convinced he's somehow actually fried his brain with this horrible impulsive experiment, and if he lives, he will never do something like this again.]

But then Toki starts to move and tries to say something and there's no time to correct Hieke. Kano slips around behind Toki's head so he's not the first person Toki will latch onto and rapid fire questions at the moment he regains adequate consciousness, and gives Hieke a thumbs up.
He's leaving this to you, Hieke... While he waves good bye... ]

Hieke straightens up when Toki starts to move, and there's really no time to get a second opinion or permission, so he let's out a breath and reaches out to touch Toki's shoulder.]
