When You Made Wishes: start! (player plot)
Imagine Wist's surprise when April rolled around and their plan for a great prank was foiled on account of all those students just...leaving??? Truly, they have become the April fool... It's what they wanted, of course -- for the pitiful humans to find freedom -- and sure there are some stragglers around, but...in the end, they decide to take the win and enjoy a short break of their own. Good thing, too, or they might have pulled out all their hair in frustration when Spring Break comes to an end and the swarm of students and faculty willingly return to their prison.
While settling back into the academy and resigning themselves to a routine, the people of Daybreak will be soothed by a gentle tune rising up from the forest. It isn't a song they've heard before, and yet, somehow...it's nostalgic, isn't it? The soft notes of the pan flute stir up something in their hearts, tugging at old memories and drawing forth a feeling of dissatisfaction and longing out from under them. Let the song lull them into taking a moment to withdraw from the hustle and bustle -- hey, turns out they sort of need it. Maybe they're coming down with a cold, or just some quick little bug...

Why did you come back? You don't have to live like this.
Weren't things better back then? Try to remember what it used to be like.

The odd message from an iris account that doesn't exist isn't up for long before the spell kicks into the next phase. However they manifest and from when differs from person to person, but those affected will all have the bizarre experience of watching some ghost of themselves from their past be born from their soul's memory. Don't think there are those that can escape this fate just by returning at a later time, either -- Wist can keep up this panpipe nonsense all day, every day if they have to. If that what it takes to get their point across...
Good luck trying to comprehend whatever point that may be, because now Daybreak is the new home to a bunch of familiar-looking rugrats and has to contend with whatever complications they may bring along with them.

Dhe notices what he didn't say, that she seems nice despite being a witch. Just as he's feeling guilty for that, a fire starts up before his eyes. They go wide, and in them, the flame dances. He meets her eyes with a look of wonder, only to look back down to his feet.
"But... I'm not magic. I'm not special at all. I'm good at guitar but that's it. I don't know how I got here. My head feels wierd when I try to remember... but." He looks back up. "I'm trying not to be scared! Because... well you said about not being afraid!"
no subject
She stands again, reaching out for his hand before continuing on their way. "Maybe it's because of magic that you're here. It does that sometimes--takes you places that you don't mean to go. So, if we figure out how to undo it, you might just go right back to Santa Cecilia."
no subject
"Really?" He asks. Magic would explain it wouldn't it? But something gives him pause. "...Would Señor R be able to go back too? And! And can I learn cool magic too?"
no subject
"But... if you want to learn magic, I don't see why would couldn't. You are at a school for magic." For better or for worse. "What sorts of things would you want to learn?"
no subject
But then the uncertainty is gone and he's lighting up again. "Everything!" He declares, throwing his hands high. "I wanna learn all the things! Really cool things! I wanna walk through walls and make magic fireworks and fly!"
Someone hasn't learned they actually don't like flight yet.

He falters. "Ah! I do! I really do! But you said not yet! So until the I want to learn everything! Most things. Some things?"

"That'd be muy chido, Tía." Tía. It feels weird. But it also kind of feels nice. "It's okay if you have papers. Señor R has those too. He lets me draw on the blank paper."

"But if staying in Aube is boring for you, you could visit me. I'm sure Señor R would allow that."

"I don't think so, mijo," she tries, gently. "I'm not one for music. Chapulines and Pepita are fine, but... No playing, please."

"Music is complicated. It's not a matter of liking or not liking-- It's... It's just no good for me." It would be a lie to say she doesn't love music, so she doesn't clarify there. But she does squeeze his hand gently. "You'll still have fun. We can do other things."
no subject
She squeezes his hand. After a moment, he squeezes back. He still likes her. He's not opposed to other things.
no subject
"Can you promise me, mijo? No music on my floor."
no subject
But she calls him mijo again and though part of him wants to cry a litte-- stupid thoughts and fantasies ruined-- he bobs his head. "Okay Señora. I promise."
no subject
"Gracias. I'll make you something extra nice when we get there. Chapulines and anything else you'd like. Hot chocolate, perhaps?" She has a lot of that on hand lately.
no subject
"Oh! That'd be really nice! My old other foster used to make that! The one with all the records. It's the best with extra cinnamon!" He catches himself. "Um. But, you don't have to. You're already being nice. You're making me things and I met Pepita and you were showing me magic."
A lot of things. And it's a little scary to be given so much. It means it'll be even worse if and when he messes something up.
no subject
"You're going to be very important one day, mijo. That's what I think. So let me take care of you until we can get you home, okay?"
no subject
But the rest of what she says gives him more pause than even that. He blinks up at her, surprised and a little confused.
"Important? How?" He gasps then. "Can you see the future!?"
