It's not a school without a mysterious new transfer student [OPEN]
Who: Christo and you
What: Christo gets settled in.
When: Early May.
Where: Soleil, various parts of campus, Aube, the network
A. How does your garden grow? -- Soleil, campus
[Now that he's gotten moved in, Christo's come to the realization that he's going to be here for awhile and that he's probably going to have more downtime than he expected.
Of course, that means picking up his hobbies from home.
Whether it's on campus or in town, you may catch Christo dragging along a small wagon filled with precariously stacked garden pots and starter flowers, a few seed packets tucked here and there.]
I wonder if I'm forgetting anything...
B. A very important phone call. -- an out of the way part of campus
[The moment his phone rang, Christo had ducked away to one of the less traveled parts of campus. Anyone who stumbles upon him now will catch him in hushed, serious conversation, eyes darting around as if he's afraid he might be caught.
At least until...]
I--
[His expression shifts, clearly annoyed.]
Yes. I made sure to pack a toothbrush.
...
With all due respect, I don't see how the amount of underwear I packed is any of your business.
...
Sir, I know how to do laundry.
[It's about now that Christo notices that he's not alone, and though he seems almost panicked at first, it changes to an incredible amount of relief almost immediately.]
Ah, yes, yes, I would be happy to hear my horoscope for the week, but it seems like someone is trying to get my attention at the moment. Please excuse me.
[He hangs up before the person on the other line can respond and puts the phone away with a sigh.]
Sorry about that. Can I help you?
C. un: yuie
Good afternoon--or evening, if you're reading this then. My name is Christo, and I am the new RA for Aube Dormitory's first floor. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you should need any help, academic or otherwise.
I ask only that you try to go easy on me for at least a week. I've heard that dorm life can get somewhat... exciting here.
[AKA he's heard about the Lum dorms]
D. Now that that's Settled -- Aube
[he's moved in, watered his flowers, and introduced himself on the network. Now all that's left to do is relax.
Christo has set himself up in the common area on the first floor, a cup of steaming hot tea close at hand and a chess board set up in front of him, playing against himself.]

Not bad intentions exactly, but I think maybe, even now, they're like me when I have repetitive visions sometimes. They're focusing on one thing, one track, and it's their only truth. Nightfall has been this huge event, this continual presence to them, like... overshadowing anything else that could be viewed differently? Like, maybe they're connecting too much to Nightfall and they're completely convinced that this is happening and we must prepare, but what if it didn't happen? What if, in trying to prevent a bad outcome of Nightfall, by making all the preparations, they've somehow brought it forth through their own choices? I don't think they're like malevolent, but I think maybe they're... arrogant about it. Like they're absolutely right and they know what they're doing, so don't question them! They should be questioned. They shouldn't be trusted at face value.
[He sighs in frustration, because he just rambled on and he doesn't if this way of thinking makes sense to someone else. But he's telling Christo anyway, because people who already know Toki won't listen and will pass his concerns off as a conspiracy theory or tell him he doesn't understand.]
I just... I think we shouldn't be so focused on this one potential event at the expense of a thousand more scenarios that could happen, and that the Seers', and Daybreak's, involvement in creating Nightfall by their own actions should be examined.

I think it's a valid concern. It's easy to worry so much about one singular thing that you lose track of everything else. And the ends don't always justify the means.
[He can't remember how many times his superior has told him that.]
Is it better to prepare for the worst case scenario or to hope for the best? It's a difficult question to answer even when other people's lives aren't at stake. I don't blame you for questioning their choices, just as I don't envy them for having to make them.
...
Might I make a suggestion?

[He's trying not to go to extremes anymore himself, and it's hard. It must be hard for them too.]
Any suggestions are welcomed~!
[He's been thinking too much in this conversation.]

It sounds trite, I know, but you'd be surprised how the little things add up in the end.

[And something he needed to hear; that he could maybe be some good to someone. He drops Kuroko to the ground; the cat running back towards the academy and finally free. He needs both arms to lunge at Christo and invade his personal space for a clingy hug.]
Thank you~!

And yet he can't help but feel a certain sense of bubbling warmth in his chest, similar to pride, stronger, but different. It pulls a laugh from him as he relaxes and pats Toki's shoulder]
It's no trouble at all. And please don't hesitate to come to me if you need anything else. My door is always open.

Okay~! I have to go find Kuroko, but I will take you up on that~!
[He waves and leaves Christo to his awkward phone calls. Later, when Toki looks him up on the network and discovers Christo is an RA on Aube floor one, he will make a point to stop in occasionally when he's been studying next door with Sarona.]
