WHO: Desidera Neroni & various (Valvatorez, then open, then Gunvolt)
WHAT: A necessary first meeting, some wandering, and a necessary second meeting.
WHERE: Various.
WHEN: August 10th, after lunch.
WARNINGS: There shouldn't be anything major. I'll edit to add warnings later if that changes.
[ MID-AFTERNOON @ VALVATOREZ'S OFFICE (Valvatorez) ]
[Valvatorez had no doubt been informed that he was specifically recommended to one of the Academy's new students, and that the student in question would be paying him a visit to discuss things and figure out an arrangement that would work for both of them, with any other classes she opted for being scheduled around that.
Having been told where his office was, and wanting to have this taken care of as soon as possible, she went straight there after having her lunch, knocking lightly on the door and then cracking it open just barely before calling in:] Professor Valvatorez? Do you have a moment?
[ LATE AFTERNOON WANDERING @ WHEREVER & EVENTUALLY LIBRARY (open) ]
[Desi's classes aren't to start for another few days, as the administrators wanted to be sure she had at least some time to settle in and familiarize herself with things. So, following her meeting with Valvatorez, the girl takes to wandering from place to place, in part to figure out what routes she'll be taking to get from one place to another, but also just to see things; almost everything here is completely new to her—though that's probably actually true for a lot of new students—and it would feel like a waste to not do some looking around now that she, for once in her life, has a real opportunity to.
As such, she can be spotted in various places, mostly looking to see what is where. The library does draw some particular interest, though, and as such she does linger around there for a fair amount of time. No reading anything though; so far she's just interested in seeing what sorts of things (and how many) are here, more or less only glossing over the shelves as she passes by them.]
[ EVENING @ AUBE 203 (Gunvolt) ]
[Eventually—finally—Desidera makes her way to the room she was assigned to. She had expected to not be left by herself, so the fact that she has a roommate is not any particular surprise. Also unsurprising is that the name of said roommate—Gustav—doesn't ring any bells; she had already met a few other students but none of them had given her that name.
Expecting that her roommate was already in for the evening, she slowly opens the door with probably much more caution than is really necessary, not wanting to surprise him too much if he wasn't expecting her.]

Hello?

Library
Do you need help!?
[He might not be able to find what she wants, but it's a friendly gesture and conversation starter more than anything. He's only had his personal guard for company for the last hour. Said guard is sitting in a nearby chair, reading a book. A yellow leash is folded on his lap.]
no subject
[Then she turns to face him.]
No, no. Thank you for asking, but I'm only looking around for the time being. [There's a brief pause before she decides to clarify:] I'm new here and thought it would be in my best interest to familiarize myself with the facilities and where they are.
no subject
[He's finally remembered they're in a library, and lowers his voice.]
When did you get here?
no subject
Mi chiamo Desidera. May I ask for your name?
[Or a nickname, that would be good too.]
no subject
[The guard scoffs at that statement, but Toki doesn't spare him a glance.]
Desidera~! That's a pretty name! It's nice to meet you! I'm Toki!
[Once again, he's quickly forgotten library policies.]

He waves it around with a vigorous sense of enthusiasm. What he's doing is not explained, though clearly he's putting a great deal of effort into it.
The stick's tip begins to glow red for a moment, and then he catches sight of Desidera and waves enthusiastically. The glow fades. ]
Um, hello! Nice to meet you!
[ Politeness takes precedence over...whatever experiment he was trying, clearly. ]
no subject
However, she's also usually not the sort to ignore when someone is calling to her, so when he does, she stops in place for a moment, then changes course to come closer. Having evidently recognized their purpose, she makes sure to avoid stepping on any sticks, not-sticks or maybe-sticks.]
Hello! [And, being aware that he was doing something:] I hope I wasn't being too much of a distraction, and I'm very sorry if I was. I've just arrived here this morning and wanted to have a look around before retiring to the room I was assigned to.
no subject
My name's Vivi! It's nice to meet you. What's your name?
no subject
Ah, mine is Desidera. [Not wanting to just do introductions and be on her way (that would be a little rude, she thinks), Desi finds herself a spot in the grass and starts to sit, intent on providing company for at least a little bit if Vivi has no objections. She has some time to spare before she absolutely needs to head to the dorms.] Would you mind if I stayed here for a little while?
no subject
He sits down in the grass with her, to be polite. ] Nuh-uh. I don't mind!
So, um - you're new, right? Did you grow up here? [ He sort of waves expansively at everything, and then realises he should probably clarify. ] On Earth, I mean.

...Though, there was one additional weird thing breaking the theme; a rather large fish tank in the corner of the room, stretching floor to ceiling, with a great many small fish inside, swimming around healthily and quickly.
The professor though, his red eyes quickly turned toward the door when his name was called, setting down his old fashioned looking fountain pen. He beckoned his visitor to approach with that same hand.]
Yes, I do. Please, come on in. What can I do for you?
no subject
With being given the indication that he was in fact available, Desidera pushed the door further open and stepped into the room, making sure to close it behind her. With Valvatorez's attention being fully on the door by this time, there would be no missing the signs of her condition, and as such the reason for her visit would be immediately obvious, if it hadn't already been obvious enough before.
She pulled up one of the office's extra chairs and sat at the opposite side of the desk.]
Yes, well. [Maybe slightly nervous.] Mi chiamo Desidera Neroni, I'm a new student and arrived just earlier today. It had been recommended that I see you, because, ah...
There are certain things that I will need your help with during my stay here, if you would be able to spare the time.
no subject
Hell, he could practically smell the daemonic influence on her. Not that it bothered him, really, because that was just the reality of the situation.
Regardless, he straightened up, sitting with better posture and despite his relatively short stature, managing to look like quite a presence.]
A pleasure to meet you. But of course, I am more than able to spare the time to help you. That's one of the reasons I am here.
I take it you're looking at issues of control, proper channeling of your powers, and practical application of them?
no subject
Whatever sort of schedule you want is fine—I'll make sure that anything else I do is scheduled around whatever arrangements we make here—but is there anything in particular you need to know to decide how you would want to do things? I'll answer any questions you have to the best of my ability.
no subject
Well, anything you feel comfortable in telling me about yourself would be helpful, so I can better tailor instruction for your particular case. After that, I can ask any further questions I have, and if you are not comfortable in answering them, simply say so. ...I understand matters of this sort of... nature, can be very personal or private.
[All things considered, his tone was actually quite calm and understanding, though inside, there were a lot of thoughts brewing in his mind about what was really going on. Better to let her say it in her own words first before jumping to conclusions.]

Today was such a day. Since Maple had moved out, it'd given him more room to spread out a bit. In this case, he was in the main room, with his suit of QUILL-issued armor on an armor rack. Several inscriptions on the armor pulsed brightly blue while he worked on it with an inscribing tool. Crackles of electricity leapt from the tip of the tool as he worked, his head occasionally turning to look at an inscription he had devised on a scroll on the table next to him.
Of course, when he heard the lock on the door click open, he paused from his work rather suddenly. That... wasn't supposed to happen, right? The only other people who would have a key should be the RA and himself, and he hadn't given the RA any reason to stop by? What could this be about?
He turned to face the door, lifting the protective goggles from over his eyes to look at whoever just opened the door to his room. And well, that's... not quite what he expected.]
Desi? ...Uh, hi?
no subject
GV? What— [And it clicks immediately. Neither of the names she had been given earlier were his actual name; one was clearly a codename of some sort, and then the other was a nickname.] Oh. Oh! So that was your name!
[He shouldn't worry, though; she'll still call him by what he prefers.
Given another moment, she continues to step inside, putting her things down in an unoccupied space.] But this is quite the coincidence; it would seem that you're to be my roommate while I'm here.
no subject
[With that, he removed the goggles entirely off his head, and let them hang in his hand. He does look a little sheepish about the situation too.]
That... is a coincidence, wow. And no one told me you were coming, so I didn't even get the place straightened up before you got here. I'm sorry. Let me get started on that. And I'll give you a hand moving stuff in too, if you need it.
no subject
One would think that it would be important to tell people when to expect to meet someone, though. Or that they should expect to share a space with them. [Maybe telling him had slipped someone's mind? Who knows.
Desi hadn't thought to tell him where she was staying, either; she had mostly expected to just see him in classes, so it didn't strike her as relevant at the time.]
I didn't bring much with me, so I don't think I will need any help with it; it's just a few things that I need to unpack and put away. I shouldn't need too much space either, so it's fine if you want to keep your things spread out a bit.
If there's something I can help with, or if I start getting in the way, let me know. [She can do some heavy lifting if he needs her to.]
no subject
You'd think, but hey, guess things just slip through the cracks. Wouldn't be surprised if someone tells me tomorrow morning. That'd be the luck, right?
[Even here, mistakes happen. And boy, do they happen.]
Thanks, and the same goes for you. Let me know if you need space at any point too. [He smiles a little bit, chuckles even, as he lifts the chair and hauls it out of the way.] Heh, you're already more conscientious than my last roommate.

Anvil of Hadur
Not that it matters if Desi the type get involved with him when she takes her self-guided tour because fate intervenes. There's a 'pwang' sound, a quiet 'oh' that should probably be a panicked 'shit!!!' as what appears to be a hand goes flying from his hangs. Or more accurately, it appears to be a black glove with a texture very similar to muscle. ]
...Please catch that.
[ He says that just as the glove-like thing starts to walk on its fingers. Pretty quick, too. ]
no subject
Here you are. Where should I put it?
no subject
[ He speaks like an ancient wizard despite being 19. No excuse for that one, he's just weird.
Up close and no longer chasing wayward imitation muscle, she can see the mannequin he has. One arm has a similar material forming a glove that goes up to the shoulder, though this has been strapped down by the time Desi has made her return. ]
If you could slip it onto the mannequin, I would appreciate it. That way, I can get a strap around the wrist with both my hands and that should be that.
no subject
[Switching from holding it in one hand to holding it with both, she turns the glove so that the opening is facing forward the mannequin's arm, allowing her to do as she's been asked.]
And...there. I'll continue to hold it for a moment so you can do that.
[While Desi's right there holding the glove in its place, it won't be difficult to notice a few things if Rex pays her any particular attention; aside from her being nearly two feet shorter, there are the pointed ears and a pair of horns that start behind said ears and run up either side of her head with small, rounded points that look like they were deliberately sanded down. With a good look at her face, he would see the red eyes as well.]
So, what is this you're working on, anyway? [She pauses for a moment.] If you're okay with telling me. If you'd rather not say, that's fine.
no subject
Thank you. [ He sits back, taking a moment to turn down his music player and its current song. Not off, but enough it's just background noise and not in the way of conversation. ] I'm creating an exo-muscle system. Essentially to support and improve the performance of the wearer in synchronisation with their own body.
[ He has projects he's not willing to discuss, but this is not one of them- those ones he doesn't do where anyone can see anything about them. ]
The nervous system is a little... twitchy at the minute.
[ Literally twitchy, as the artificial muscles do their best to flex on the mannequin. ]
