A new wind blows [OTA]
Who: Giorno and you
What: New student arrival, in person or over the net
When: Starting December 30th
Where: Daybreak Academy
Warnings: None at present
Greetings to everyone, I am a new student here and wanted to introduce myself. I am Giorno Giovanna.
I have recently joined this school, coming from my home of Napoli, Italia. If we meet in person please pardon me if I fall into a familiar tongue for some words, with French and Italian being so close it happens to me a bit. I will strive to be at least understandable.
I am pleased to meet everyone and look forward to studying here and getting to know the people I am now living with.
Thank you.
~Giorno
[Around Campus]
Wherever he is he does his best to exude a sense of belonging, his posture intentionally graceful and artfully relaxed. At five foot eight inches he's not towering, but tall enough to look at least a little older than he is, especially since he is athletically trim, rather than lanky. His blond hair is always neat and cared for, three distinct rings of hair are secured to his hairline in a style reminiscent of victory curls, while the remainder is kept back in a clean short braid, with the very end curled up in a loop to keep the ends from tangling. He has turquoise eyes that seem to study the world around him as he watches, and generous lips that seem quick to smile, even seeming to naturally sit in a happy expression.
His outfit, often in a shade of pink or deep blue, is quite distinctive. The top has a heart shaped cut out which reveals a good portion of his chest, and is decorated with three fist sized pins that are modeled after ladybugs, to attached at the sides of the heart, while the third is set on the center line at his waist. His pants are always matching and cleanly tailored, while his shoes are well kept, with small, matching ladybug decor. All told he has the appearance of a young man who is well put together.
As he people watches he can be seen playing with small objects, like pens or even one of his own pins, and with a shimmer of gold around his hand, they change shape into animals, varying from small snakes and geckos to even kittens, depending on the size of the item he's playing with. The actions seem almost subconscious yet he is always careful about any animal he is holding.

What does stop her is that she's pretty sure she's never seen this kid before and is narrowing her eyes from a little further down a hallway to watch him. Whatever the hell he's doing is... curious and she's pretty sure she saw this asshole on the same floor she was on.
"You just moved into Aube fourth floor, didn't you?" Good welcome, Jolyne, except not when you sound accusatory already.
no subject
She seems a bit aggressive for his tastes, the teen trying to read her, to see if she was just always brisque or if she actually had something against him. He couldn't not answer though, so he decides for some believable flattery, something that could pass for genuine. "Si bella I did. You live on that floor as well?" He asks, figuring such an assumption from her words wouldn't be rude. He offers her a slight bit more of a smile, letting it press his cheeks up in a way that would make it look as if it reached his eyes.
no subject
"Yeah, last room at the end of the floor before you get to that damn single room." The one for the RA, not that she knows who this newest one is, or cares particularly about his existence. As long as he leaves her alone, that's none of her concern at this point.
Slowly she's shifting her stance to put a majority of her weight to one foot, letting that top slide just a bit more to show a good chunk more of the mark. She doesn't know, or care, at this point. But she can recognize bits of Italian at this point and it's far easier to see how badly she can throw him off his game. "And you can cut it out with the flattery, it won't get you anywhere." It's rough around the edges and with a noticeable American accent, but that... sure is some version of Italian.
no subject
"Ah, then that means I am just across the hall from you." he says with a nod, they clearly hadn't ever entered or exited their rooms at the same time yet, so they hadn't had a run in until now. He had not really noticed her on the fourth floor either, so she must have seen him while he had his back turned.
The shift of her stance brings the star further into view and he can't help the way his focus goes to it for a longer moment, and he has to work to seem as natural as possible when it hits him that it very much appears to be a star from what he can see. It's in the same spot as well, same as the picture in his wallet, and same as what he can see if he twists a bit in front of a mirror. It was odd enough to have inherited the same mark from his birth father, but for another to have the same mark? He might have thought it a tattoo if not for how exactly it matched what he knew. Her Italian, which was very interesting to hear, was enough to return his focus to her face, though now the snake was being flicked back into a pen with just the slightest hint of gold around his hand as he did so.
"You wound me to call my heartfelt words only flattery." He responds in Italian, pushing himself into the roll of charming to try and ignore the star mark. In his hand the pen changes to a full grown anole lizard. "I did not realize you knew Italian... please color me surprised." His smile now nearly at full brightness.
no subject
His lingering stare isn't helping the situation, either, as she's shifting to push that out of sight. Or, well, try to do so. Even with the weather she doesn't entirely understand how to cover every little bit of her body up, problems with coming from a place where it's almost always warm year round.
"My mother's family is Italian, that's all you need to know." The words are snipped, not seeming particularly keen on giving more detail just yet. But what she will do, is push another subject entirely.
"You seen that mark before? Guessin' on someone else?" Oh, there it is.
no subject
Backing out and running away now would not help him with this person, he could tell that much, she was too straight forward and would see it as him either hiding something or being evasive for other reasons.
How much to say though? He wasn't about to show her his own, that was for sure, but he knew lying about it completely would not work, it was clear she was focused on this subject. A partial truth then, as minimal as he could go, without risking sounding like a bigger lie than denial would. "I've only ever seen it on another in a photo." he stated, hoping he could thread the real truth between those words without revealing it. The best slight of hand was misdirection after all.
He casually turned the anole back into his pen, his focus not even on the action at this point, just using it to distract his hands while his mind is running far too fast in many directions, trying to anticipate where she would go with this.

UN: ornithology
[Might as well offer, if he's got the time to be in the sky anyway!]

You say normally, does this mean you may, at times, not be a hawk? I am sorry if that is a rude question to ask.
As for pets, I don't have any such per se, but my magic is able to create animals of various sizes. Do you generally hunt on school grounds? I ask because if you tried to catch one of my creations it could come close to killing you, and I would not like to be the cause of that if avoidable.
[The offer is appreciated!]
no subject
I hunt around the school, yeah. What do your animals look like, so I can avoid them?
no subject
That is the thing, given enough material, I can make just about anything. But often times I'm making small creatures, mice or frogs. Unfortunately I also don't always have a chance to hold them... but perhaps I can carry around some kind of marker to do my best to keep on them, when I make them.
I truly do not want you to get hurt, but I cannot stop this part of them either, once I create them, they are alive and will reflect back any injury done to them on the source, to protect their own lives.

Her French was understandable, but had an oddly archaic accent to it. She looked kind of scruffy at the best of times, but next to Giorno's sense of style she seemed even more disheveled than normal.
no subject
His French was heavily accented with his native Italian, making him sound like he was almost trying to blend the two languages. He was someone who took impeccable care with his appearance, but that didn't stop him from interacting with others, regardless of how they looked. He generally didn't judge other's on it either, he tended to think that people may have their own reasons for how much or little they worried about their appearance.
no subject
Her surprise didn't stop her from scrtiching the kitten behind the ears, though. If this guy could generate kittens from nothing, that was a weird power, but probably not the weirdest one in the school.

As she asked this, she picked the new kitten up to look closer at it. It...definitely looked like a kitten, and not like a pin at all.

"Wow...."
If Vivi could sparkle, he would be doing so. He is absolutely, completely dazzled by the most amazing ability he has ever seen in his entire life.
He's also incredibly blatant in his staring so he's pretty easy to notice, honestly.
no subject
"Would you like to come see her?" He offers, holding the pup out toward the other with a smile.
no subject
He knows how animals can be, though, and to avoid potentially startling the dog with how strange he is (which has happened before, sometimes) he stands very, very still so the puppy can give her approval first.
"Is it really okay...?"
no subject
The puppy barely has time to sniff at the offered hand before she is excitedly licking it, her tail wagging and happy little sounds coming from her.
"She likes you." He adds with a happy smile.
no subject
"So they're really living things? They're not illusions...?" He's fascinated by the magic that would make that sort of thing work - in all the magic like this he's seen in his short life, they were mostly glamours, or they were specially animated objects. Not objects to living creatures.

Aube
Giorno is doing exactly what he does by rote: observing. Making a mental dossier. Learning the lay of the land before risking a misstep.
That's what cautious people do. And it's a special kind of teenager--what is he, fifteen, sixteen?--that comes off as cautious.
The next time Giorno happens to glance over, he'll find himself watched in return. Once their eyes meet, Therion will tip his head a little, saying nothing.
Problem?
no subject
He smiles and tips his head in return, keeping the eye contact to show he had nothing to hide. It was something he'd learned how to do, in spite of everything that he would hide from everyone if he could.
No problem.
He allows himself to 'casually' fix a small bit of his hair that had started slipping, something to look even more normal and unassuming.
no subject
Therion answers the smile with a good-natured shrug of his own and returns to whittling for a while, just keeping track of Giorno in his periphery. Once he's deemed enough time has passed, he packs up his work, brushes his lapful of wood shavings from the towel he laid down to catch them into the trash can, and heads for the stairwell.
If the new kid felt anything was fishy about him, he'll follow. If he wants. Therion takes his time and ends up lingering on the third floor landing to see if curiosity wins out.
no subject
When the other does get up and leave Giorno finds it impossible not to follow, wanting to see if he could figure out why he'd caught the other's attention. If nothing else it would give him one more thing to work on so that he could stand out even less. He gives just long enough that his getting up and following shouldn't be noticeable. With his phone in hand, as if he just realized the time, or just made plans, he stops at the top of the stairs for a short pause, before slowly making his way down them, listening for the sound of the other moving.
His focus is, at the moment, on listening for steps rushing down the stairs, evasion, not someone stopping to either lead him anywhere, or trying to catch him in his act. He was used to the people of Napoli and the tourists there, without any idea of how much they were scammed for constantly, not other people with canny perception and knowing gazes.
