[Toki doesn't know what happened, but there's a weird guy in a red costume, and a talking bear. He doesn't recognize Gongenzaka's voice, because he doesn't pick on those things.]

Am I dead?

[Toki's injury isn't an emergency at least, to afford to go back down the stairs and circle around the building to meet Odd-Eyes.

Yuya's less quiet along the trip, though.] So... uh, what happened just then--was that really because Gongenzaka is a lycan?

[Toki stops in the middle of the hallway at Yuya's question. He backs against the wall and slides down to sit on the floor. It's hard to breathe and he's shaking. He's watching it again and again...

...Ginshu's dead eyes looking up at him. The lower half of her face is almost gone entirely, the jaw hanging off one side, blood dripping onto the grass from what's left of her tongue. Her neck is torn open, ragged claw marks visible along the edges of the flesh that remains. Her left arm has been severed near the elbow, the limb landing near his feet. Half of her fingers were missing, bitten off. There's blood everywhere. Pieces of her and the others, bodies torn to shreds...

... He's screaming again, fingers yanking at his hair unconsciously. Nothing exists but the attack at the shrine.]

[Yuya isn't new to talking to people who've had bad experiences with lycans. When his best friend is one, it's a topic that comes up. But he's never dealt with a situation where talking about someone being one incites a screaming fit every time.

Yuya's on his knees by Toki with his eyes wide in alarm as he moves to grab his shoulders to try and hold him firm.] Toki?! Breathe, you're safe right now!

[yokeye]

[It's not Yuya that approaches him, it's the werewolf creature, done with his sister and looking for fresh prey. When Yuya touches him, he just screams louder, trying to curl up and hide.]

[Yuya tries to shush him, not leaning any closer but not letting go, either. After biting himself Yuya doesn't want him to hurt himself further.]

Toki it's me, it's Yuya! You're okay, you don't have to be afraid.

[yokeye]

[He's barely registering Yuya's words beyond the fact that he's speaking. The screaming turns to crying, but he sees the hallway again. He's still terrified and expecting to the corpses and the blood and the lycan to appear again at any moment.]

Toki, focus on me okay? Look, me, you're safe now. Nothing's hurting you. [Is talking him through this even working? Yuya's not sure but it's all he has.]

[yokeye]

[He tries to focus on Yuya, but it's taking a minute and he only picks up the last sentence. He's still panicking a little and he can't stop crying.]

I'm... okay n-now.

[He is not even close to okay.]

Yeah. So just stay sitting and breathe, okay? Nothing's going to come for you here.

[yokeye]

Okay.

[He will stay here and breathe, and cry, and try not to feel like he's dying.]

[Yuya draws his hands back, sitting down beside Toki to wait until he calms down. This time, he just stays quiet.]

[yokeye]

[Toki doesn't look at Yuya for the entire three minutes it takes him to stop crying. He is the worst roommate ever, and Yuya shouldn't have to deal with this.]

You should go get the door open. I'll stay here.

[Going back down to the first floor and running into whoever was still around was probably not a good idea right now.]

Okay... you sure you'll be okay waiting here? [He's moving to stand, but he looks worried about what state he'll find Toki in when he returns.]

[yokeye]

[He's not sure of anything right now, but they really should fix the locked door problem.]

I'm fine~! Where would I go anyway?

[hippocarnival]

... Okay. I'll be back soon.

[He hesitates only a second before he turns to run. It'll take about ten minutes, before their room unlocks from the inside and Yuya leaves the door wide open as he runs back down the hall to Toki's side.]

Toki, it's open!

[yokeye]

[He's kind of surprised to see Yuya running back down the hall; when yelling from the doorway would have been perfectly acceptable. He stands and starts heading back to the room.]

So, we really have keys? Because I haven't seen them.

[Did he lose them the first day and completely forget?]

You should have. [The school isn't going to make them leave their rooms accessible to anyone at any time of the day.] If you don't have it, you should ask for a replacement tomorrow.

[yokeye]

I'll do that!

[He's also going to dig through everything in the room later, to see if he'd left it somewhere.]

[Yuya nods, letting him in first before he closes their room door behind them and moves to the bathroom to dig up the first aid supply.] Is your hand still bleeding?

[yokeye]

[He looks at his hand. The blood's dried and there's some obvious teeth marks, but otherwise totally fine.]

No, it's fine.

Okay. [Yuya turns the disinfectant over a wadded up issue, squeezing out some excess before handing it to Toki.] Here, you should wipe your hand down first.

[yokeye]

[He cleans the dried blood off and can't help staring at the bite a little too long. Toki really hadn't meant to do that, and it was disturbing.]

I'm sorry about... I didn't...

[He can't formulate a sentence right now, that in itself also very disturbing. Best not to talk about it at all then.]

[Yuya shakes his head.] It's okay. Something... happened to you, right? That hurt you and made you scared.

[He doesn't have any other explanation for that kind of trigger, anyway.]

[He wasn't hurt. It didn't touch him. Fangs and claws dripping with blood and none of it was his... He's crying again and breathing too shallowly.]

[He covers his mouth with both hands because he's going to start screaming again any second, he can feel it.]

You don't have to tell me. [Yuya hurries, hands outstretched with the box of bandaids in case he needs to comfort Toki again. Frankly, he's not even sure he can tell him right now.]
