When You Made Wishes: start! (player plot)
Imagine Wist's surprise when April rolled around and their plan for a great prank was foiled on account of all those students just...leaving??? Truly, they have become the April fool... It's what they wanted, of course -- for the pitiful humans to find freedom -- and sure there are some stragglers around, but...in the end, they decide to take the win and enjoy a short break of their own. Good thing, too, or they might have pulled out all their hair in frustration when Spring Break comes to an end and the swarm of students and faculty willingly return to their prison.
While settling back into the academy and resigning themselves to a routine, the people of Daybreak will be soothed by a gentle tune rising up from the forest. It isn't a song they've heard before, and yet, somehow...it's nostalgic, isn't it? The soft notes of the pan flute stir up something in their hearts, tugging at old memories and drawing forth a feeling of dissatisfaction and longing out from under them. Let the song lull them into taking a moment to withdraw from the hustle and bustle -- hey, turns out they sort of need it. Maybe they're coming down with a cold, or just some quick little bug...

Why did you come back? You don't have to live like this.
Weren't things better back then? Try to remember what it used to be like.

The odd message from an iris account that doesn't exist isn't up for long before the spell kicks into the next phase. However they manifest and from when differs from person to person, but those affected will all have the bizarre experience of watching some ghost of themselves from their past be born from their soul's memory. Don't think there are those that can escape this fate just by returning at a later time, either -- Wist can keep up this panpipe nonsense all day, every day if they have to. If that what it takes to get their point across...
Good luck trying to comprehend whatever point that may be, because now Daybreak is the new home to a bunch of familiar-looking rugrats and has to contend with whatever complications they may bring along with them.

texts back bc he can ]
I have two guesses who grim creeper is so you have to tell me which one is correct!!
I'm going to guess Tyzias because why would Rex want a dumb keychain??????
no subject
the dumb keychain is for you dumbass
but gc is rex
no subject
Aww, you shouldn't have, Mav!
But thanks!!!!!
Now that I have somewhere to keep all my keys, I don't need the doorknobs~
no subject
it'll be a couple days still
[It's around this time that Ricky looks up, realizing that everyone else is being as quiet as he is, and tugs at the bottom of Mav's shirt.]
Hey, sorry, weasel. Adults are fucking a pain in the ass, huh?
[????? no.........but whatever...]
But none will ever be bigger than this one~ Cricket's a real dumbass. He's Ramona's friend, too, but don't always listen to his ideas, if you see him around.
no subject
Pocketing the phone, he waves his hand in front of Maverick's face, blocking him from view and putting himself in between him and Ricky. ]
Don't "always," huh? I'll take that implied "sometimes"~! Hey, kiddo, how 'bout we give Mav a breather and you and I go out and play somewhere?
no subject
With the shit you pull? What makes you think I'd allow that? What's your fucking plan here, cricket?
no subject
Aw, why so suspicious? Just thought you'd like a break from having to look after one more head~ I'm free, after all, without anybody to wrangle up, so why not help out, right? That's what friends do!
[ Murder each other's kid selves because they're Wrong ]
no subject
Yeah, and as Ramona's friend, I know how bad it would be if shit went down and I wasn't there to be able to explain why. You end up in the infirmary at least once a month. Ricky doesn't really need to see that.
no subject
Eh~ Is it really that often? Sometimes I just go there to hang out, you know? Ekkehardt and me, we're buds! Hieke too! If something went down, I'd be there to explain things, so isn't that enough? Ah- the things in the jars— have you ever seen them? They're pretty cool, and I bet he'd get a kick outta them!
no subject
Somehow I fucking doubt that he would. [Mmm... He chews the inside of his cheek while struggling to come up with a way he could explain the problem without making Ricky more concerned than he already is.] Cricket, I know it must be exciting to find someone the same mental age as you after all this time, but I don't...know...if this place is the best place to have an adventure, for him.
no subject
[ Kano crouches down in front of Ricky so he can look up at him and consider the boy closely. He has to wonder if anywhere is a good enough place to have an adventure, considering just how miserable Ricky looks. Sort of like how he used to look, when he was first shipped off to the orphanage and spent his days lost and confused and hopeless, until he learned to hide it better.
Back then, for him, his saving grace wasn't sitting around and moping and being content petting cats and listening to the adults, it was the people who took him by the hand and pulled him out of his comfort zone and forced him to move on. With such a miserable face like that, this would be what'd be best for Ricky too, he's certain of it. ]
Ricky, want to go to an amusement park? You and me and Mav, we can go together.
no subject
An amusement park... He looks over to Maverick again as the older boy clears his throat.]
There's rides...you could go up real high. Up above everything else and see it all at once.
[Huh... He's been up real high before, and it wasn't so bad. Nice, even. Studying Kano again...he would know that, wouldn't he? If he was that boy... That's a very silly thought, but he can't help it. They look so similar, except for the eyes... They were a little different. Brothers, maybe?
Nevertheless, it does sound...fun. He thinks. So he nods.]
no subject
[ Kano hops to his feet, grin alight on his face that would have been impossible for Shuuya to manage if they were the same person. Physical similarity is probably about where similarities in general start and end. ]
Alright, Ricky, let's blow this pop stand~ No matter what Mav says, you're the boss today!! We'll follow your lead as to which rides you want to go on~!
no subject
no subject
Hm, hmm~ What sort of rides do you like, Ricky? Roller coasters? How 'bout we try the roller coaster? I bet that'd be lots of fun, don't you think? Let's go ride that one~!
[ He doesn't spare Ricky a glance at all; if he can't verbally say no, that's as good as agreeing with Kano. ]
no subject
You know, I did just have two very large purchases...
[But that's his only complaint about shelling out money, and he does it without hesitation.
Ricky would have shrugged in reply, but he can't even really do that as he's dragged off. Mmm, Ramona and Maverick moves fast, sometimes, but it was usually a thoughtless thing, and they would slow down when they realized he couldn't keep up as good as them... He's not too sure that this was the same thing. But he's coming...! Time for the roller coaster...apparently.]
no subject
He comes up to the roller coaster car and lets go of Ricky's hand. ]
Here we are~ Get in, get in! Mav, you go sit next to Ricky, and I'll— [ hop off the other side of the tracks and let the next two people file into the abandoned car. He will stay right down here instead of throwing his life away on that death coaster, and take pictures. ]
no subject
[Like, he's here, and Ricky is here, and he wasn't exactly sure how many people could stay in a car, but Ricky was small, but!!!]
Cricket! Get back here!
[The younger boy's just staring, eyes wide and uncomprehending. He's not coming with...?]
no subject
I'll be taking pictures from down here, so remember to raise your arms up in the air at the very very top!! Bye-bye~~
no subject
The reality is that Ricky holds Maverick's hand so tight, his fingers feel funny, but even if he's anxious, he's also whipping his head around to take in as many sights as he can on their crawl up the rail in their little car. It's exciting to be able to see so many things and feel the anticipation in the air rising along with them, even if he doesn't really know what's going on and that he wishes it were Ramona next to him instead. He'll be able to show her the pictures, anyway, because somewhere down there was her other friend and he said he was going to take them, and so he needs to hold his arms up high when they're at the tooOOOH GOSH THE WORLD IS ROARING TO LIFE AND COLOR AROUND HIM AND HIS BREATH HAS LEFT HIS BODY BUT HE CAN FEEL THE WIND IN EVERY VEIN, IN EVERY STRAND OF HAIR, IN EVERY INCH OF HIS SKIN WOW okay...okay. Whew.
Maverick also enjoys being up so high and feeling the wind whip around him, but his experience is somewhat soured, not only by the knots in his stomach and the way his hand is in a tiny vice with bitten up claws at the ends, but by the way the wind decides to be a dirty thief on top of a reeling experience. Good thing noises all run together up here, because more than a few parents are already furious with the exclaimed FUCK! torn from Mav's lips as his hat is torn from his head. Well, at least Ricky's having a good time, but...
No... Hat, come back...]
no subject
It's really too bad about Maverick's hat, though. Kano abandons his post to hunt it down, finds it and jams it on his head and hides it under an illusion so he can pretend it's been lost in the wind forever. ]
no subject
Ricky is puffing with excitement when the rollercoaster comes to a halt again, pulling a mourning Mav along with him in his search for their third. While he doesn't have a smile that cures dying stars just yet, he's breathless and alert, ready for what's next.]
Fucking damn it to hell...
[hat?? hat...... where hat]
no subject
Hehe~ Looks like you had fun! You guys were up sooooooo high, I wondered if you could see me waving from all the way down here? Ah... [ Hat, huh? The distraction on Maverick's face is so obvious, Kano bites down a laugh and points at his own head. ]
We could get you a new one? With your choice of animal ears~
no subject
Mav sighs and runs his free hand through the mussed, brushed out curls. He hates this.]
So fucking stupid... [But at least it wasn't his favorite, and Kano's right -- there might be a substitute around, and hopefully not one with stupid ears on it, that would be humiliating.] Fine.
no subject
Alright, Boss~ [ "Boss" is Ricky, naturally. Kano unfolds a park map he'd kept on him and turns it around so Ricky can see it right side up. ]
