1; {Adelaide} - June 2nd, Aube 403

[Toki should have prearranged this, perhaps, but spur of the moment has always been more his speed. He carries a large basket, covered with a cloth, as well as a small cooler. He sets them down in the hallway outside Aube 403. It's late afternoon; it wouldn't do to take a vampire out during the middle of the day. Hopefully Adelaide has no plans for the evening; at least it's the weekend and she shouldn't have a class. He knocks on the door loudly.]

2; {Nekane} - June 4th, Nekane's office

[Toki has gathered all of his vision records. Three notebooks that were kept for the sole purpose of vision documentation, two notebooks generally used for classes that have vision notes interspersed throughout, printouts of old text files and sent messages, and a folder of printed photographs documenting other places he's written or drawn vision related information. There may some things missing that he'd completely forgotten about, but it's a thorough, if somewhat incomprehensible, record. As per faculty suggestion, he's come to Nekane's office to discuss his apparent misinterpretations and "conspiracies". He hesitantly knocks on the office door with no enthusiasm.]


3; {Tsunade} - June 17th, Tsunade's office

[As recommended by the faculty, Toki's mandatory therapy component of his disciplinary action verdict has been outsourced. The therapists on staff at the academy found themselves ill-equipped to provide sufficient care to the extent that was needed. Toki has been seeing a psychologist (Dr. Louise Katzenberg) and a psychiatrist (Dr. Etienne LeBlanc) at the hospital in Soleil. Sessions have been long and numerous, and he experienced several breakdowns while in their offices; something which did not work in his favor, and he has been kept at the hospital overnight on more than one occasion. After a thorough review of past behavioral accounts provided, and personal interactions and observations, a tentative diagnosis of several co-morbid illnesses has been recorded, and recommendations made in accordance. This information is now being shared with the academy therapists, counselors, and medical staff.

The doctors have made their diagnoses as follows:
paranoid schizophrenia
panic disorder
dissociative identity disorder spectrum
acute episodes of psychosis and mania

They believe Toki is a danger to himself and others in no uncertain terms. They feel his poor decisions and life choices stem from consistent incorrect perceptions of persecution and suspicion, that his impulsiveness and pressured speech are manifestations of a constant internal state of panic and anxiety. Though he has shown no distinct separate personality, they suggest it is only inevitable with his level of dissociation from reality and should be dealt with before there is a complete break in his psyche. They have noted repeated instances of brief psychosis and manic displays, and believe these can be significantly curbed with correct medications and continued psychotherapy. Behavioral correction is discussed as a future treatment should he make sufficient improvement.

Seven medications have been listed and prescribed. Six from the categories of anti-psychotics, sedatives, and mood stabilizers; the combination of which has been determined to have the least potential for negative interaction with each other. The seventh is an anti-convulsive for frequent seizure activity. Further recommendations include: the use of physical restraints and/or tranquilizers during any periods of acute psychosis and mania in which there is concern for safety, as well as consideration of a wheelchair should seizures remain uncontrolled with medication. Medications are to be left in the academy infirmary, as the doctors feel Toki is not capable of keeping a schedule, nor do they think he will comply if given any choice in the matter. There is a note beside this section in the report which states the academy should pursue legal action to declare Toki incompetent and thus restrict any medical and legal say he may have in the future. They have contacted his parents, who were unaware of his presence at the school, and were adamant that they were not his guardians and it was not their problem.

Toki was allowed to see the report, and he disagreed with the majority of it; absolutely livid by the time he finished reading it, even though he didn't completely understand everything. It resulted in screaming and accusations, which the doctors used as an example of paranoia and made a note of his reaction in an addendum, along with a statement that there is a place for him in the psychiatric wing of the hospital should the academy choose to leave his treatment solely to them.

Now, Toki's back at the academy after the report has been distributed. He waits impatiently in the comfortable chair in Tsunade's office while she reads through it all. It's taking all of his concentration not to scream.]

5; Quad - June 24th

[Around mid-day, Toki wanders the courtyard in the quad. He doesn't know where he's going, and only has a vague sense of where he came from. His jeans are covered in dirt and grass stains. His bare feet are also dirty, and bleeding in some places. He has no shirt on; his collarbones and ribs very prominent and his skin pale enough to be somewhat translucent in places. He's covered in scratches, some small and some longer; most are shallow, but a few bleed. Down the sides of both arms and across his abdomen are sloppy drawings in black marker; all of them either eyes by themselves or the Herald's face with vague and incomplete expressions. The occasional "It's watching!" or "They're coming!" is scrawled in Japanese along side the images. Dirt is caked under his fingernails and a couple of them are jagged and torn. He waves and smiles at anyone who passes by. There is nothing wrong here.]


6; Legionnaire Quarters - Pool - June 30th

[He's not allowed to swim, and he's never had the desire to do so here, but for some reason Toki enters the Legionnaire Quarters today and heads directly for the pool. He's completely dressed, did not bring a bathing suit, and has no intention of using the pool for recreation. He has another purpose. Today, it all became too much for him and he snapped; not a breakdown so much as an epiphany; a euphoria achieved once he made this decision. Escape. An end to it all. No more suffering.

He says nothing to anyone on his way through the building. He doesn't wave or smile at people around; doesn't seem to notice them. They don't matter. Nothing matters but this. Entering the room housing the Olympic sized swimming pool, Toki continues to take no notice of anyone in the vicinity. He strides directly the pool and jumps in. Expelling all the air in his lungs, he sinks to the bottom to sit there, almost peacefully. There's no conscious hesitation as he inhales the water, only the body's physical reaction of trying to save itself from death; choking and gasping and only bringing in more water. His lungs burn and then he feels nothing.]

[ Hm... Giving Toki his phone would be a terrible idea, even if he illusions it to make it look and contain whatever he wants; Toki has destroyed enough phones in his short time that Kano's known him, for Kano to trust that in his hands. ]

Sorry, but I don't have a cellphone. There might be a camera we could use in the art building, though. ...Did you lose your phone?

No, it's not lost!

[It's also not here. Toki's phone is in his desk drawer. It's been turned off and he doesn't use it anymore.]

There's an art building?

[ ...Right, so Toki just doesn't carry it with him, similar to how Kano does have a wallet with an ID and money somewhere but never has it with him either, because it's useless. ]

It's... well, where the art students gather. Many are photographers, so there'll be cameras. I could take you there.

[ At least be inside a building if you're going to be shirtless. Also surrounded by other people Just In Case ]

[Toki spends a minute looking around where they are, so he can maybe remember where he needs to return to later.]

Okay! I need a camera!

[suddenlybees]

[ He patiently waits the full minute, getting incredibly anxious every passing second because anybody spending this much time looking around is surely trying to find a way out to escape. Stupid... Toki should just say no if he doesn't want to go; he knows Toki has no problem with that, especially if it isn't "Kano" he's speaking to.

But eventually Toki complies, and he lets the tension out of his shoulders. ]

Alright. Follow me.

[ The direction he heads off towards is eventually the theater, but on the way- ]

We should do this properly. My name's Kido. What's your name?

[Toki realizes they're heading for the theatre building, and he probably should have known there were art rooms in there along with the music ones. If he remembers, he'll check it out again later for paints; add some color to the wall and ceiling drawings.]

Nice to meet you, Kido~! I'm Toki!

[He doesn't have any questions for her, like he usually does. It's unimportant right now.]

[ They're all interconnected, art and music, stage props and soundtracks coming together for a play. Over in this building too is where Kano had initially summoned Saeru, but none of that matters anymore and Kano keeps her chin tucked into her turtleneck to keep her face half hidden. ]

If you're not going to wear the jacket properly, give it back.

[ Let her hide... In any other time or place, there's no way Kano would want to be seen next to a shirtless Toki, so he's just glad he's not him right now. Otherwise, he's never had any trouble filling the silence with chatter. ]

Anyways... What did you want to take pictures of?

[yokeye]

[Toki had forgotten about the jacket altogether. He slides it off his shoulders and holds it out to Kido.]

I drew things like this- [He points to the eyes decorating his skin] out in the woods and I need to have documentation for reference! It's important to record it all! I might miss something otherwise! It's like dug into the ground in some places and might be overgrown by the time we get back!

[Grass doesn't grow that fast, but he isn't thinking clearly about this. The lines in the dirt are something impermanent and they could disappear.]

[ A frown teases on Kido's face when she looks at the eyes on his skin; it's not like she could've missed it, with them being everywhere and not even the first time she's seen it, but why out here? What's the point of drawing them over and over again, when they're the exact same eyes as before? ]

You... drew them on the ground, and also yourself? If you're not going to wear your shirt, why not draw on your shirt?

[ If he can't be bothered to wear it, or carry a notebook around. Toki has a notebook??? What is his aversion to carrying things on him. ]

It was dark.

[His shirt was too dark for the marker to show up. That's all the explanation Kido gets as they arrive at the theatre building.]

[ That's such a stupid explanation, but one he files away for later to try to figure out how to solve this problem and present the solution back to Toki without being Kano.

Heaving a sigh, Kido just falls silent and stares directly ahead while she leads the way inside the building, trying her best not to appear associated with Toki next to her.

Downstairs, to some sort of basement-type thing. The hallways here are a bit beat up, and there are absolutely no windows anywhere under the ground. She stands at the top of the stairs and stares down into the darkness. ]

Down here. You're not scared of the dark, are you?

[ Just go for it, Kano tells himself. Before Toki seizes and falls. ]

[yokeye]

[He wasn't expecting the cameras to be in the basement, but it does make sense. Apparently, they still used dark rooms here or something. And maybe an analogue camera would actually pick up something interesting about his drawings; that gets digitally changed somehow with modern cameras and phones. Something to consider.

At her question, Toki doesn't admit he's somewhat scared of the dark, of the complete dark. Which he assumes this won't be.]

No, it's fine.

[He still waits for her to go first.]

[ ...Kido looks over at him when he doesn't move, the cheer having been snuffed out of his voice the moment they entered the building, and that contrast isn't hard to miss. ]

Alright. It can still be dangerous, so hang onto the handrail just in case. I'll be here too if you need me.

[ Like how Tsubomi had taken Toki's hand in the haunted house that felt like so long ago, how Kano hates the dark and the silence and monsters jumping out of nowhere, none of that has changed; Kido keeps one hand on the handrail on her side, the other hand hanging limp and ready to take Toki's hand if something happens, and starts down first, a glance over her shoulder to make sure Toki's actually going to follow.

It's not complete darkness, thankfully. But the light that's cast is an eerie red, so hopefully that doesn't freak Toki out either. ]

Haha, it's just stairs!

[He's been avoiding stairs, but Kido doesn't need to know that. Toki holds onto the rail to follow Kido down the stairs. The red light doesn't bother him in the least. It's to be expected of a photography darkroom, which is where he thinks they're going.]

Do you take a lot of pictures?

[suddenlybees]

[ Stairs can be hella dangerous, you don't need to have a seizure disorder to be careful on them. Kido doesn't speak again until they're safely at the bottom of the stairs, level ground again where Toki can fall and it'll be slightly more alright. Where is his service yak?? ]

...Not a lot. I like looking at pictures, though, so I hang out here sometimes.

[ Only partly a lie. Kano takes pictures for specific reasons— documentation, the same way Toki does- and him hanging around here wasn't for any interest in photography. ]

[yokeye]

[Toki hasn't been bringing the yak around as much. He's had some luck with the anticonvulsant medication, but it's only been about a week, so it may be wishful thinking. The yak is also unfortunately too big to go wandering around the woods with him, and it's slow.]

Oh, okay!

[She comes down here to see what other people are taking pictures of. That's kind of creepy.]

So where are the cameras?

[suddenlybees]

[ The yak being big and slow and clumsy is why Toki should keep it around, so he can adjust and ground himself to the yak's speed and not have his mind racing 2343958 mph. ]

Not just laying around, or anything like that. They're expensive... I'll ask around if anybody is willing to let us borrow their camera. Wait here.

[yokeye]

[Or, he needs a hummingbird.]

Okay~!

[While waiting, he pulls the marker out of his pocket and draws some more eyes.]

[ If Toki's writhing and twitching on the ground, how is a hummingbird supposed to help anything????

Kido slips away into one of the classroom, and by some miracle (mostly because she gives the truthful explanation of wanting to borrow the camera for a short while because Toki wanted to take pictures of something, instead of what Kano would do and make up some shady extravagant lie too suspicious to be believed) one of the students agrees to lend her the camera.

5-10 minutes later, she comes back out, camera slung over her chest. Toki does not get to touch it. ]

[A hummingbird would strictly be used as a warning system; both for himself and with the ability to fly off and find help if necessary. In theory.

When Kido returns, Toki has rolled up one of his pant legs and started drawing eyes there too. He looks up and smiles at her.]

Good! You got one~! I'll bring it right back!

[suddenlybees]

Nope.

[ Toki. does. not. get. to. touch.

Kido holds the camera close, adjusting the camera strap a little so that it doesn't thump against her chest when she walks. ]

I spoke with that student, and the stipulation was that I take the pictures. He'll develop them for us too, but we need to be back within the hour, so let's go.

[yokeye]

[Well, that technically makes less work for Toki and he doesn't have to learn how to develop photos. He caps the marker and puts it away. He starts rolling his pant leg back down, but stops halfway to stare blankly for about three minutes. Like a vision he'd had once before, what he sees amounts to nothing but lightning like flashes of color and reddish purple afterimages. When it's over, he's not exactly sure what's going on or how he got here.]

What were we doing?

He looks at Kido like he's never seen her before.]

[suddenlybees]

[ Toki will wake up to see that he's on the ground, probably because he'd fallen, but it's with Kido's jacket folded up and placed under his head. She takes it back as soon as he gets up, Kido herself crouched beside him without much surprise or concern on her face, camera cradled in her lap. ]

We went downstairs at Theater Lenormand, to borrow a camera.

[ She taps a finger on the camera in her lap, to bring his attention over to it. ]

You fell and were unresponsive for several minutes. Does anything hurt?

[yokeye]

No.

[He checks to make sure he isn't bleeding anywhere or anything, and then takes notice of all the eyes. Holy shit.]

Did you uhh... see me do this? Do you know why? I mean, I know why I guess, but...

[He curls in on himself a little and backs up against the wall. This is not good at all. The basement of the theatre building is nowhere he would ever go. Who is this girl? Why did they need a camera?]

[ Those other questions are ones Toki should ask, so Kido knows to answer them, but she does her best to answer what she can, voice soft and low and quiet. ]

No, I didn't see you do it. But you told me before, that you drew them in the woods, too. You wanted photographic evidence of that, I believe... Did something happen in the woods?
