When You Made Wishes: start! (player plot)

Imagine Wist's surprise when April rolled around and their plan for a great prank was foiled on account of all those students just...leaving??? Truly, they have become the April fool... It's what they wanted, of course -- for the pitiful humans to find freedom -- and sure there are some stragglers around, but...in the end, they decide to take the win and enjoy a short break of their own. Good thing, too, or they might have pulled out all their hair in frustration when Spring Break comes to an end and the swarm of students and faculty willingly return to their prison.

While settling back into the academy and resigning themselves to a routine, the people of Daybreak will be soothed by a gentle tune rising up from the forest. It isn't a song they've heard before, and yet, somehow...it's nostalgic, isn't it? The soft notes of the pan flute stir up something in their hearts, tugging at old memories and drawing forth a feeling of dissatisfaction and longing out from under them. Let the song lull them into taking a moment to withdraw from the hustle and bustle -- hey, turns out they sort of need it. Maybe they're coming down with a cold, or just some quick little bug...

The odd message from an iris account that doesn't exist isn't up for long before the spell kicks into the next phase. However they manifest and from when differs from person to person, but those affected will all have the bizarre experience of watching some ghost of themselves from their past be born from their soul's memory. Don't think there are those that can escape this fate just by returning at a later time, either -- Wist can keep up this panpipe nonsense all day, every day if they have to. If that what it takes to get their point across...

Good luck trying to comprehend whatever point that may be, because now Daybreak is the new home to a bunch of familiar-looking rugrats and has to contend with whatever complications they may bring along with them.

[ The bag gets dunked into the cup, string looped around the handle so it doesn't slip inside, and then handed over to Ricky. Hold onto this for him for a sec. ]

So... Mav. I heard rumors of popsicles.

[Oh. Now he has two cups. He doesn't know what to do except sit as still as possible, uncertainty bright in his eyes as he looks between the other two. Why is he holding this???

Mav, on the other hand, has a wide grin curling.]

[But instead of expanding on that, he walks over to Ricky and takes hold of the mugs. The boy looks up, nods, and meekly takes a bag -- a little bigger than one of his older self's hands -- out from his hoodie pocket and holds it out.

Inside the bag of colding, a bag of holding with a 20 gallon capacity and filled with inert gas used to keep its contents chill, is:
Popsicles.
Popsicles, minus a few bars.
Fudgsicles, minus a few bars.
Popsicles.
More popsicles.
Flavored whipped cream.
Halloween variety sprinkles.]

He chews the inside of his cheek while struggling to come up with a way he could explain the problem without making Ricky more concerned than he already is.] Cricket, I know it must be exciting to find someone the same mental age as you after all this time, but I don't...know...if this place is the best place to have an adventure, for him.

[ Kano crouches down in front of Ricky so he can look up at him and consider the boy closely. He has to wonder if anywhere is a good enough place to have an adventure, considering just how miserable Ricky looks. Sort of like how he used to look, when he was first shipped off to the orphanage and spent his days lost and confused and hopeless, until he learned to hide it better.

Back then, for him, his saving grace wasn't sitting around and moping and being content petting cats and listening to the adults, it was the people who took him by the hand and pulled him out of his comfort zone and forced him to move on. With such a miserable face like that, this would be what'd be best for Ricky too, he's certain of it. ]

Ricky, want to go to an amusement park? You and me and Mav, we can go together.

[Ricky's eyebrows knit in confusion before his face relaxes into that blankness again while he considers it. Ramona's friend isn't interjecting right away, and this guy that was apparently another friend of Ramona's was saying that he could come along, too...

An amusement park... He looks over to Maverick again as the older boy clears his throat.]

There's rides...you could go up real high. Up above everything else and see it all at once.

[Huh... He's been up real high before, and it wasn't so bad. Nice, even. Studying Kano again...he would know that, wouldn't he? If he was that boy... That's a very silly thought, but he can't help it. They look so similar, except for the eyes... They were a little different. Brothers, maybe?

Nevertheless, it does sound...fun. He thinks. So he nods.]

[ Kano hops to his feet, grin alight on his face that would have been impossible for Shuuya to manage if they were the same person. Physical similarity is probably about where similarities in general start and end. ]

Alright, Ricky, let's blow this pop stand~ No matter what Mav says, you're the boss today!! We'll follow your lead as to which rides you want to go on~!

[He's the boss today... He has no idea what to do when he's the boss, but he can reach out and take Maverick's hand, then extend his other in an offer to Kano. Big happy line?]

[ Well... A big line, anyways. He hesitates before taking Ricky's hand, but once he does, it's held firmly and with a little swing to it as he trots off ahead of the other two. Ricky's the boss but in name only; Kano goes ahead and leads the way towards the bus station, leaving it up to Maverick to spot the two of them for tickets, and counts the stops until they're to get off in front of the amusement park. Maverick will need to spot them both here too, thanks. ]

Hm, hmm~ What sort of rides do you like, Ricky? Roller coasters? How 'bout we try the roller coaster? I bet that'd be lots of fun, don't you think? Let's go ride that one~!

[ He doesn't spare Ricky a glance at all; if he can't verbally say no, that's as good as agreeing with Kano. ]
